Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If you have regular Navy For Moms meetings in Omaha, would you like to have Sailors attend one of the meetings if it is during Omaha Navy Week? I am one of the Omaha Navy Week coordinators and would happily discuss some of the options: pamela.bou@navyweek.org

Chicago Navy Week will be Jun 25- 4 July. There will be events in the city and suburbs, including the Navy Band will be playing at sporting events and marching in parades. We are still confirming details, but the Leap Frogs are also scheduled to jump at some of the events. Also, we are trying to have Sailors from USS Chicago (SSN 721) at the Museum of Science and Industry submarine display! (PB)http://www.navyweek.org/chicago2011/
when will event details be finalized for Chicago? I'll be in Chicago the entire time. My daughter goes to BC August 10 and we want to attend Navy Week in Chicago.
Thanks!
Detroit Navy Week is July 18-24, with the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show July 23-24 featuring the Blue Angels.
The Navy Band will perform at different events and Sailors from USS George Washington, an air craft carrier forward deployed to Japan, are coming to participate in some of the events.
In general, Navy Weeks are designed to bring Sailors to an area that doesn't have a large Navy presence so that people can talk to the Sailors and better understand life in the Navy and the Navy's mission.
