Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Im divorced and my ex has not been at all nice. I was not allowed to see the boys at his place, or even come to his house and once the eldest could drive, he would not drop them off so if the eldest was not available (which was all the time) I did not get to see them. The eldest was killed last september.
so, my navy boy (youngest) put me down to see him at PIR. But the letter went to my ex, and he will not help me get a parking pass. he wont share the information, either, about who to talk to or the password or anything.
I called the recruiter twice, asking for help. They could not find the phone number to call about this and promised both times to call me back, but they have not.
What do I do?

When is PIR? If there is time, write to your recruit and ask for the password. If your ex will not give it to you, that is the only way to get it. If there is not time, then you will need to take a taxi or shuttle to the RTC or park in the Metra parking lot and walk in. See the info in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit and PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.
The recruiter can't help with that and the PAO will only give out the password if you have a password to give to him/her due to the PIR date changing and that is not the case for you.
The recruit decides who to mail the form letter to. In some cases the recruit is able to request a second form letter, but few do. Unfortunately, not every ex is willing to share info and perhaps your ex has a reason that he is unable to put aside even for this. Hopefully, your recruit will send you the info to fill in the blanks on The Form Letter. If you do not get the password, then you can park in the Metra lot and walk across the street to the RTC.
Write to your recruit and ask for the password and get the letter in the mail tomorrow since there is time before PIR.
THANK YOU for the link! armed with the actual information, the actual words from the document, I got my ex to agree to send me the password.
