OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

PIR 09/28 LIBERTY PASS INFORMATION NEEDED!!!!!PLEASE HELP.....
Trying to figure out asap what could be a likely Liberty Pass..for our SR?? I know it says family will know details once your SR tells you. I know about the schedule if your SR will not be staying in Great Lakes following PIR.
Really need to figure out: should we stay thru Sunday 09/30; hoping our SR will have a day pass,etc??? Or should we assume Liberty would only be extended thru that Sat????
Any insight would be appreciated...

I am thinking of it this way, we have graduation on 9/28 with a possible liberty of a few hours on friday we are staying untill tuesday making it a vacation . And if my SR has liberty on Saturday it is a treat. Dont plan to leave until at least sunday. If they ship out after Review u can go to the airport and wait with him until ge gets on plane. That way if he goes friday or saturday u have allotted the time to spend with him either way.

They don't get liberty overnight...they have to be back on base each night by a certain time.
As far as knowing this info...you won't know until your recruits PIR!
The ONLY person who will know 100% will be your recruit at PIR! Anything they say before that is subject to change...people have said they get a weeks leave after bootcamp, to find out latter it is a bunch of recruits guessing what is going to happen.
This is going to happen for the rest of your recruits time in the Navy...only THEY know the info of what is going to happen and everything is subject to change.
IT is up to you how long you all stay in Great Lakes.
Majority of new Sailors who are flying out of state after bootcamp, fly out the day after PIR...BUT do you want to be that 1% whose recruits don't fly out until Sunday and you leave Sat? Or do you want to spend the extra money and stay a few extra days only to find out your recruit flys out on Sat? It can go either way.

My son just graduated last week and is staying in GL for a few weeks. He had Liberty beginning at 7am and had to be back on base by 10pm both Saturday and Sunday. Is your SR staying in GL or leaving to fly somewhere else for A school?

Yes, My daughter is staying in GL after PIR. our flights are sched to leave O'Hare Sat night. But now I want to stay til Sun. I will b so upset if we all leave and she's alone on sun w a pass and no family.

My SR is flying out to A school, Mississippi to be exact. Should I stay till sat or Sunday? When do they usually ship them out? Do they always use Ohare international or do they ever fly out of midway?
