Just got our letter today so not sure how many out there have the same information.  7 days in and he says it sucks !!!  probably so !!  we'll start writing to him,  encourage him to keep going and remember that you go through Basic Training, you don't stay there.   Better things await those who persevere !

God Bless all the recruits

I just got a call from my daughter!!!! They were awarded a phone call home for all of them passing PT test. I had 30 minutes to talk to her. She sounded great and actually still likes it. They just completed their first academic exam as well. She said the food is OK, all of it is healthy and nothing is fried. The closest thing to anything sweet is frosted flakes and fruit loops. She had to go back to uniforms and get smaller sizes because she has lost so much weight. Their hours are usually 0600 to 2200 everyday. She doesn't get much sleep and they do allot of PT.

She also said they were able to write letters on Sunday so start checking those mail boxes! They only get mail call on Fridays and they were also awarded an early mail call for either tonight or tomorrow.

I hope everybody else gets to hear from their sons, daughters or husbands today as well. It made me feel so much better knowing that she likes what she is doing and has already bonded with some of her rack mates.

So glad we got phone calls and all calls not the same so we learn more of what is going on. Have any of you heard of getting Division t-shirts? They have sweatshirts also. Not sure if I actually will get one but if interested I can post the web site.
I would be interested Nola.
Okay here goes. I tried to copy the entire web page address but it didn't want to work. I think it's because it is an official Navy site. The email address is : www.mwrgl.com . From the main page click Enter, under general information at the top, select RTC graduation, in the middle of the page it asks about the divisional t-shirts and then click on Mail Order Form. it should take you to the form itself which you might have to print off.
Sorry this is so detailed and I hope it helps. Let me know.
BTW - Got our very long personal letter today and it was started 3 days after arrival. He said at one point that he hoped he didn't get caught writing since it was "lights out". Figures !!
Thanks for the info on the shirts! And I'm so happy you got a nice long letter!!!!
haven't seen you in awhile Diana good to see you !!
Hey Nola - Sorry about my absence. I've been busy at work and just haven't had as much time to post. But don't you worry, I'm still here!!!
Boy, I understand that. Somedays I just listen to all the postings and not talk much. When I told my son there were several moms that had recruits in the the same ship and we were talking, he was looking for paper to write down names. Wish I had names to give him but I understand the rules and need to abide by them. There are so many moms out there that don't know about this site that would benefit from it. A friend told me about it and I told another friend who has a son leaving in Mar. for GL. Guess it's word of mouth?
Anyway, maybe closer to PIR we could exchange email addresses, get names and give to our recruits? I think it would encourage them to meet others who's moms are chit chatting and sharing info. when we get it from them.
Ideas ???? Concerns????? Thoughts?????
This post is for everybody and would like to hear what you think. ☻☻☻
I've exchanged emails with the mom's in my group and shared the last name of my recruit - since that is how they know each other. If you do it through email as opposed to a posting it stays private. Then you can either mail your recruit the name or give it to them when you are lucky enough to talk.

Just an idea....
Diana - I keep forgetting this isn't your main group but that's O.K. still good information. I had thot of what you said earlier so I guess we will just send private messages to each other and see where it goes and how many we get.
T H A N K S ʚϊɞ
I hope you don't mind me stopping by....I love you all!
Thank you for this. I got two letters today and they were written before she went to bed too. It was so nice to actually hear what they are doing and how she feels. She said she thought the division was coming together and starting to work together.
I can't wait to order a shirt. We have four weeks and five days until we get to see them.
