For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

PIR 12/2 - Suggestions for how we can all spot each other!
Ladies, I ready on another thread/group about a great idea of how we can all spot each other at PIR. Other groups did something like all wearing the same colored scarf. I think it would be a great idea to come up with something like that (or even that exact idea) so that when we look out over the hall at PIR we can see all the ladies that we are chatting with here and becoming friends with!
What do you think? Suggestions?

wvnavymom - I like your blue scarf idea. Navy blue for the Navy.. I don't think I will be able to make it to the Meet & Greet because we are driving up to GL after work. With the weather in here in Illinois in December who knows what time I will make it up there.. Are they giving out the bllue candles at Meet and Greet and if I don't make do you know where I would get one?

I like the idea but I live in Houston where it is still in the 80's so finding a scarf won't be easy. Give me some ideas of where to find one and I will be happy to wear one. I am already preparing myself for the cold.

I love the idea of a matching scarf. I think blue is a great color, fitting to the Navy and we will need them come Dec in that part of the country. I have never made one but think I may try, it will give me something to keep busy with. I love the matching sweatshirts too. @ Lydia, where did you have yours made? I know my kids would love to where something showing support and so would I. I say we take a vote and the majority wins. My vote is for blue scarf.

Blue scarfs is fine with me. Are we talking about silk scarfs or like a winter scarf? Just want to make sure I understand. I"ll have to get my crochet hooks out and get me a book and get some yarn and get started.. woo hoo.

I think a knit scarf would be good and appropriate. Once the color is decided I'm going to get a how to book and some yarn and will attempt to make one.

kristie - Navy blue is the color! I don't know how to knit, but my grandma taught me to crochet when I was little. I wonder if I can teach myself to knit??
