Ok I just got a call from my  daughter, she was crying and said she couldnt do this! heart breaker!! Anyone experienced the same thing? she has pir on aug 19 also and I was wondering what hotels are close to great lakes. Oh man this is hard hearing her sad voice... It does get easier doesnt it?
She'll do better when she settles in and the team starts working together.
Hang in there!!!! It does get better. The first couple of weeks are the hardest. Is this the first call you received?
I got a call when she first got there on the 27th then one today needing info. She was just distraught and kept crying. I just wanted to go get her!! :( I told her remember what her recruiter said, that the first few weeks were hard but that it got better.

I'm sorry she is having a hard time! Sounds like you did a GREAT job of being positive for her. I want to hear from Andy but it sounds like what they say is true...no news is good news!!!!  Sending prayer for strength for you and your daughter!!!!

Thank you for the prayers, and mine are going out for you and your loved ones as well:)i have written her every day and try to stay positive. Neither one of us really knows what to expect here so we are learning. She only had to call to get information to start her security clearance. I hope you hear from your andy soon! and its good news:)
Oh so sorry to hear your daughter is upset.Just keep sending those positive vibes.Do you think she will be ok? We are staying at the hampton inn libertyville,$89 a nite with breakfast included and a pool.Goodluck!
I pray she will be ok, she is a sensitive one. Shes not really been away from me like this but she will toughen up im sure. a pool? indoor right? because i am in tx and the weather i see in illinois doesnt much sound like swimmin weather lol do you have plane tickets already?
Yes the pool is indoor...LOL...have you heard anymore from your daughter? It really sucks not being able to be there for them! I missed my son like crazy today.
Hi, my son Zach is the same ship but div 267 still graduating on aug 19.Cant wait for PIR!

HI

What state are you from? Another Recruit went to boot camp the same day as my son Andy from the same recruiting station but I don't know his first name. LOL!!!!  Going by the last name thru DEP and then first names on this site gets confusing. LOL!!!!  When I called our recruiting station the Friday after they left Andy's recruiter said that the other recruit was on the same ship as Andy but in the brother company and I think he said 267 but I don't remember for sure. Are you flying or driving to PIR? We are flying Southwest but I am waiting to hear from my mom and dad before I book our hotel. they might be taking their camper down to GL from Minnesota..

Hi, my son Sam is also ship 10 and div.267 I hoped he would call yesterday, but no luck!!  He graduates on August 19 also.
