Hi pita75- Ship 02 Div 935! My husband left from San Diego May 16 as well. What is your son's rating? :)

HI Rica075, he's going to be a gunner's mate...

@ Rica075, how are you  holding up? Do you have family around? I miss my son so much :/

Oh, it's my husband but i'm pretty sure we are feeling the same way :(  I miss him more every single day. Yes, I have my family with me (mom, dad & siblings), plus my work is keeping me super busy. What I did is i made myself an 8-week calendar and just filled it with activities, like dinner with friends, doctor appointments and stuff. Even to the tiniest thing like laundry and costco, haha! Just to keep my mind busy, thinking that i have "so much to do" (when i really don't). Read lots of books and surf the internet for lots of information. Start planning for graduation. Who knew that coordinating flights for a group of 6 would be that hard?!

How are you? Do you have family with you? I read that he's your only child, must be that real hard. :(

That’s funny because the day after he left I was at target getting my calendar, colored pens, paper & cards. I’ve been writing to him a lot.  I’ve also just finished my ribbons for graduation. My family is about 40 minutes away & I’ve been spending as much time as I can with them. Yes my son is the only one, I’ve had my ups & downs, not only am I waiting for a letter or card from my son, but also an email or call from my husband he’s on a ship in Japan right now. I‘m hoping he’ll be home soon… Totally understand about fights, we have 5 people going, I booked the hotel already just waiting for my dad to get the days off to book our flights… I’m so proud of him & excited for graduation!!!

Hi Everyone! I too am at a loss as what my son is doing in this division.  He definately is not a singer and does not play an instrument. Must be some kind of drill team with flags, rifles?  He too played football his entire childhood so this is driving me CRAZY wondering what he's doing! I can't wait for a phone call or letter! I had no idea he would volunteer for this division. So proud already!   My son left from Los Angeles on 5/15.

WELL I GOT MY FIRST LETTER YESTERDAY YAY!!! WELL ACTUALLY HE WROTE TWO IN ONE . SAID EVERYTHING GOING OKAY BUT HIS DIV IS GETTING IN TROUBLE ALOT DUE TO PEOPLE NOT LISTENING SO HE SAID HE WOULD DEFINATELY BE IN GOOD SHAPE WHEN HE IS DONE . HE SAID HE WROTE TWO LETTERS CAUSE THEY WOULD BE VERY BUSY AND HE DIDNT KNOW WHEN HE WOULD GET TO WRITE AGAIN. THIS REALLY MADE MY DAY.

Hi All! I got my first letter today! yay! :) Hope y'all got some as well! :) Have a great weekend! :)

YAY!!!! how's he doing? I'm so happy for you!!!! enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hi All! How have you been doing? Hope all is well! Have a great weekend! :)

Got another letter from my son today.  He said things are still hard but he's getting used to it.  He still made no mention of what it is 935 does.  If anybody finds out let us know.  He also said that everyone was really pumped when they got mail so keep writing your sailor, it makes a big difference!  Have a good weekend.

Hi Daryl's mom! Happy for you that you got a letter and thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! :)
