Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hi Leah - please come on over to our Nuke moms group and post your question there. We have lots of active nuke moms who can respond. (And yes, they usually fly out very early on Saturday morning but you can often go wait with them at the airport - so if you can book your flight later in the day you might be able to spend some extra time with him.)

Do not expect him to have much time at all. We were told repeatedly that because our son was going to an A School away from Great Lakes, that he would be flying out the day after graduation. What we weren't told is that by "the day after graduation", they meant they'd bus him to the airport at 0200 that morning. We found out when we brought him back to berthing after spending the day together after graduation. We met him at the airport, gave him his cell phone, and spent a little time there, but he was gone early that morning.We went back to our hotel, got a nap, and left about noon that day.
