Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Recruits that shipped out May 23, 2018
I’m going to make it 8 more weeks without seeing her. Her box just arrived and seeing her stuff makes me miss her even more. Any one else have a recruit that shipped on May 23 or anytime really, just wondering if others feel as sad and lost as I do. I’m happy to have found this group!

Yes my son shipped on the 23rd and I got his box yesterday too. Am I being silly to want to keep the box bc it has his handwriting on it? LOL Rose, I totally understand how you feel and am struggling with the reality of the changes that we are facing too. I decided to "join" in and work out each day - goal of working out 6 days a week - figure when I see him we both will be looking good! It is just my way of staying connected to him during this time frame. I have already written him 3 letters, so when I finally get his address, he will know I have been thinking of him!

Good to know our kids are in the same group, we can keep each other informed. NO, that is not silly, I thought the same thing, I stared at her handwriting on the box for awhile before opening it, then opened the box and smelled her shirt, ugh. Yep, this new reality is hard to accept but I know its what she wanted as Trish pointed out. That's great that your working out also, it should help pass the time and give you a goal, also release some positive endorphins, I plan to do the same.

Hello. My daughter left also on May 23rd. I have not yet received her box so can you tell me please did your box come with fedex or USPS?

Thank you. Nothing yet. I spoke to the USPS person and he had no idea. Spoke to the Recruiter he said he was unable to track it. Spoke to RTC and was told that as of yesterday only 1 box was returned unable to deliver but it was not hers. I'm hoping for the best and will call again RTC by Friday if it doesn't come. This time I will ask for a tracking number.

The Box will be dievered Fed Ex and someone needs to be home to sign for it. they will leave a slip to pick up, unless you leave a note for them to leave at the door. just an FYI.

or if you live in an area that FedEx hands off packages to USPS You may be able to leave a signed and dated note for FedEx to leave the box without a signature, but you may need to have the form from FedEx that indicates it is permitted. You can also go to www.fedex.com/us/delivery and set up the delivery options.

Rose - I have news. My son just called as he needed info for his pw - anyway, they are only on day 5 and doing their FIT this afternoon. He said everyone seems to be doing fine and his motto was to keep his head down and do what he was told. He sounded upbeat and positive. I am hopeful that this information will help ease your mind and give all of us some data; I think the holiday weekend pushed his Pweek out by a few days.

I have been wondering about that, my daughter was very concerned about the first running test, the 1.5 mile run. She was at a disadvantage in regards to training prior to leaving, she was underweight and was told NOT to train due to needing to gain weight. She was told to "eat as much as she can and don't exercise". She is naturally thin and has always had a fast metabolism. She only had one "P time" prior to leaving due to her ship date and struggled with the run there. Luckily she made weight at MEPS by .2 ounces. I've been reading that if they fail this first physical test they have once chance to retry in 24-48 hours, if they fail again they get sent home. Praying that they they all make it! Glad to hear your son sounded upbeat and his motto sounds like a good one LOL. Yep the holiday pushed us back unfortunately.

I understand the recruiter not wanting her to lose any weight, but to tell her to not train is wrong when so much is at stake since not training ahead of time can result in failing the initial run for some and injuries for others.
There is info in Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT) for you.

Lemonelephant I agree with you 100%, I didn’t realize they could get sent home if failing the initial test until it was to late, now enough time left to train/prepare. I know the recruiter was concerned about her weight but don’t think he was thinking past getting her there. I’m praying for the best! I should hear something tomorrow or Monday if god forbid she failed the test and the re test (initial run was this afternoon).
