Relatives Currently in SHIP 5 for Discharge Waiting to Come Home

I have a current relative in SHIP 5. I'm cant be specific of what he is being discharged for,but i can tell you that it has something to do with depression.I recently talked to him & he said he signed the papers WEDNSDAY & he will be coming home TUE or WEDNS. I don't know if this is accurate but if somebody could please tell me when i should be expecting him home,i've been recently told that since its a medical discharge ro something, it could take about a month. But from what i've been told by him, it could be only 1 week or a few days appearntly. HELP.

hi
My son came home from ship 5. It took 16 days of mind rotting, hell. Sorry to say it that way, but those are his exact words.
I dont know what signing the papers means...if that means he met with legal and they gave him his discharge code and he signed THOSE papers, then perhaps yes, he will be comming up for his turn to leave soon. Go to the ship 5 moms site and there is some good info there for you. You can ask seps admin general questions. The answers may not be completely accurate based on your son's specific situation but I know that she does try to be as helpful as possible. I think she really does want a good transition for our kids but I wonder how much she really has looked into what goes on there. It is not a picnic there, what is described as what these guys are doing versus what they REALLY do may shock and anger you. sorry to say that, but I think people really need to know and get proactive to change this situation, and most importantly, change the people who are directly in charge of over-seeing these guys.
Did your son call the day before he was to leave for his flight & for his arrival?
What all did he do during Ship5, was he aloud phone calls frequently?
Thanks SepsAdmin, i'm acctually really happy to hear from you.
I acctually recieved a phone call from him last FRIDAY June 18, saying that he already signed some sort of papers.
He wasn't specific of what the papers actually were, but once i call, should i ask for someone specific to ask for? I would like to have more information & especially if his name is on one of the lists. Thank you so much.

I acctually called about 5 minutes ago, and they transfered me over to MALE SEPS, and they told me they weren't aloud to give me information about anything only take messages. I don't know if it was a bad idea to talk to them or not, i don't want to mess up or slow down any process of my relative's stay in SEPS. I'm just trying to get my information correct.
Oh, well, i only want to know if my relative's name is on the list to leave for him on those either days.
He called me last friday & told me the possibility could be that he would be coming home either tuesday or wednesday of this week, but i just want to be sure what it really is if he's really coming home thisweek or not.
SEPSADMIN,
Am i suppose to ask for anyone in particular?
I recieved a phone call from him, he will be coming home TOMOROW MORNING (:
I so sorry to hear this, but it is not uncommon for many recruits to be discharged due to depression, the Navy is not for everyone and it can take it's toll on you ! Unfortunately, it can take some time for him to come home, it all depends on where they are sending him for his medical and psych evals, I've seen some kids go home in a week, and some it has taken up to 30 days, it's just very hard to pin point a date because every recruit's circumstances are different. Good luck to him!
