For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Well i leave in about 2 weeks for boot camp and im not that nervous as i thought i would be, but i'm still unsure with this program and just wanna hear somethings about it, i already heard everything that is bad about this and wanna hear some good things !

liisax - If you're happy, then that's what it's all about. A lot of young adults just get burned out with school. They want to see and experience life. The Navy allows this. A good thing about PACT is you immediately gets sent to your 1st duty station. Why is this important? College....
Because the Navy has a rule that a sailor must be onboard their 1st PCS command for 1 year prior to the Navy allowing them to take college course. Your clock immediately starts ticking when you gets to your 1st command to reach that one year time. A lot of sailors don't get to see the college because they are required to wait. Some "A" and "C" school are long, then you have to wait that one year at the 1st command. So they get burned out from school. They want to experience life. That 1 year break from school is awesome.
