Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 02, Div 927 : PIR 5/18/12
Hi there!
I am the mom of a new sailor who is in ship 02, div 927. His PIR date is 5/18/12. We are interested in other folks who have kids graduation within the same division/ship. This is all new to us so we are pretty clueless!! Where to stay, what to wear??? What to do with him after graduation?? Anyone else feel the same? :) Thanks! Donna

Nope... nothing! I have a feeling that because they are in the performing division, they have even less time than that of SRs in other divisions. I am wondering if I will hear from my son at all before the call that says he is graduating and has completed his battlestation thing... ??? I will just keep sending cards and such... hopefully he has enough time to read them.

I went on priceline.com and requested a 3 star hotel with an offer of $50night- thought I would get rejected but ended up getting an acceptance from the Residence Inn!

In case you have not found it, Facebook has a page for the Navy RTC and posts weekly graduation pictures. Since it seems our kids may be helping out with some of the graduation ceremonies, we may be able to spot them in some upcoming pics.

I have been checking the Facebook page every few days. We won't see our kids until around the beginning of May... I think they do the 3 graduations before theirs. We may see something as early as april 27th. Sometimes they post just random pics. I always look for the flags to see if I can find the 927 div. No luck yet! =( Still haven't heard anything from my boy! GRRRRR....

I got 3 letters in one. He is carrying a state flag. Group still having problems working together, but He is doing good. Swim test done! So good to finally hear from him.

Got a Call!!!!!!! 40 mins! loved it, but was such a bad connection, I was like What!? say that again. we spent most of the time yelling at each other. So glad to hear he is doing good. said the command even gave the div. an almost compliment!
He is carring the Alabama flag. And they made him a div. staff. he is not sure if that is a good thing or not yet. But he is doing Good.

Wow, 40 minutes! We only got 10 minutes (well, my husband did - I was at work :( ) and that was with a bonus 5 minutes for being one of the top in the first PT test. My girl is also carrying a flag and seems to be enjoying being a part of the 900 div, but finds the whole experience pushing her to her physical, emotional, and mental limit.

I got a call on Friday. We got 38 minutes!! My son is carrying the Mississippi flag (we are from Maryland). LOL He said they didn't get to choose. He said that he passed his swimming, push ups, sit ups but is 30 seconds short for his run. He said that he is now a Weapons Petty Officer. He got extra responsibilities for doing well. I am SHOCKED!! LOL He is loving all of it! He said that the walls are plaster with posters that say, "Profanity is not leadership" but that every CO screams swear words constantly! LOL He said that he is going to chapel too. WOW!! He said that a few people have quit so far! He said that one guy just cried the whole time he was there and they finally sent him home... his parents forced him to join. He said a few others kept going to the sick area (whatever they call it) and complained that they are not mentally stable enough to do it. He said that he has only gotting in trouble once for his bed not being made right. He also said that they are one of the largest units and sometimes a few people get them in trouble because they won't "shut up". All I could do is think of how many times he got in trouble at school for talking! LOL He seems to be doing really good.

Bill said the same thing. They Div, gets in trouble for the ones that won't shut up! and yes the ones that don't need the extra training, get promoted (extra dutys) But really it is an honor to be in leadership, and I am so proud of them!

This is definately a life changing event for all of us. I see maturity and growth in just a few short weeks. I am so excited and proud of all these recruits!

Hi Donna,
New mom to all of this. It's been a learning adventure for us. My son is in ship 02, div 927 also. My husband, one of my sons and a friend will be coming to his graduation. I can't wait to see him. I am somewhat confused about the division he is in but learning a little about it. Really don't know what we will do after graduation yet. Thanks, Yvonda
