For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

well no letter today, there was one last thursday so that was a big disappointment, on top of not getting a phone call yet!

I hope there is one in your mailbox today!
We got one yesterday, he sounded more up-beat than the first letter, The DIV got there first flag and he was happy about that.

If anyone gets insights on the 803 please let me know, my son is not an extensive talker. When I got the st call "I'm here" that is how he sounds normally. I am happy they got their first flag. Not sure what that means either. But YAH!

DM....my son said: 'last week we had our first test, the whole DIV did so good on it we were able to earn a flag. here whenever a DIV does really good on something thay get a flag for it and you carry it around whenever the DIV goes marching. Thats really how you can tell how long a DIV has been here is by how many flags they have".

Oh Lyndahl, Thanks for sharing that info. It gave me chills. My son didn't mention a flag, he just said they were doing really good as a div. That makes me very happy!!!!!

DM: I got a letter yesterday from my SR in 803. He said the days are all "running together", and he said that was "good". They are all definitely counting down til graduation he said. They are all ready to get to Pensacola. His letter was a lot shorter than the first, but he was upbeat. He said they were doing good, but were working really hard. Has shin splints, but is working through it. I hope your letter gets there soon. Got my fingers crossed.

I got a letter today. They are able to write twice a week now. So happy for that. I am going to send him more pictures. He cant wait til Graduation.

Has anyone in division 803 received any more updates on how our SR's are doing? I've received 2 more letters from my SR... but he really hasn't spoken about how the division is doing... he mostly talks about how terribly he misses me. (which is great!) But I wish I knew more about how they were doing as a divison.

It sounds like things are getting better and they are getting use to the changes now. That is really all I have. I am interested to hear more too if anyone can share.

My son wrote "we made a lot of progress this week." Not sure what all that entails but progress is a positive word. He seemed quite upbeat but said this week was a very busy week with inspections, tests and seamanship training.

I think my son was on facebook too. Nothing since Oct 6th then this. It isn't him typing but him putting an application on. It was awesome. It was to me saying that a secret admirer (me) will be seeing him soon. :) I cant wait.
