Well, got a second letter from my son today.  Had his bottom wisdom teeth taken out on Thursday and get two days bed rest, said he is glad, kinda tired.  Scored very high on his PST.  Short letter but always nice to hear from them.

Hope you all get one soon too, MAYBE we will all get a call for Easter!

glad to hear hes doing good! im sprinting to my mailbox right now!

Got my second one today.  Wasn't expecting it so it was awesome.  He is tired but doing ok.  He is sleepy during the day and can't go to sleep at night.  He is tired of that.  They are down to 81 SRs now.  So let's lift them up.  He had watch already and they started twice a day PTs with spec. ops.  He was excited about that.  Other than that seems good.

is there any one else that has their SR who(m) will be going into AIRR after BC?

addy- that is so great that you got a 2nd letter already esp since you were waiting soooo long for the first!

Hi i think mine is AIRR.  I need more info on what it is.  My SR is in the 811 spec ops and is planning to be a rescue swimmer (I think).  Does this sound like yours?

div 811 is made up of eods, rescue swimmers and divers. I have not heard of any other rate that is in this group. If your SR doesn't want to defuse ordinance(bombs and the like) or swim to great depths (diver) then chances are that the SR will be saving others (motto-"So others may live").

Does any of this sound like what your SR talked about before they left for BC??

This is his back part of the contract where they give you your job descriptions to choose from but another thing that confused me is that the front of his contract where it says specific program enlisted for: is atf/airc Aircrew Technical field aircrewman. But his jobs listed are for airc/airr(he really wants rescue swimmer, that is AW). But i didn't know if you all could help me. with Did all of your SR'S go into bootcamp with a source rating(his actually job that he is giong to A school for)?

It is very confusing and I questioned my SR as well as the recruiter and the Chief about this. All involved understood that the SR would be getting into the specific program of AIRR. I will double check the contract to see if that is how it is listed as well. I am still learning.

haha i went the navy office up here, and confused the heck out of the recruiter. he was uhhh i don't know then. i was like well thanks for that help (:

I remember that the wording is similar and vague so it could be that your SR will be heading to that rate. You will know more answers as the time passes.

Sadly, the recruiter should know exactly what he signed the SR up for!

Ok I'm not sure if we can open a "chat" line !  My son is Alex and he's in this group of kids !  HE loves the food and is sick of standing !  He is going into the Navy Dive program and will stay in Great Lakes for A school than  on to Panama City for dive school  !  We are from Spokane, Wa

I just talked to my son!  Sooo happy right now! He recognized several of the names I gave him from here.  We talked for 38 glorious minutes!  He thinks he gets weekend liberty (like I was hoping) after PIR! He says the RDC's are "more laid back now", and "actually kinda cool up to a point". They are on training day 2-5 today.
