Here is a look into the day in the life of the 800 division.

This may be a dumb question but all NSW candidates are placed together in an 800 Div, right?

I am patiently waiting for a personal letter, note, one liner from my son lol. Am getting very excited to go to the graduation and see him.  He turned 25 on the 25th,hopefully he has received our cards and letters.  Does anyone know if a car rental is needed or are there shuttle buses going to the graduation?

rmarasco there is usually a shuttle available to PIR from your hotel. We rented a car to get around during the weekend. You will need to pick your son up in the morning and drop him off each night. The train is also a good way to get into Chicago. The Navy Pier and Sears Tower are fun to visit.

thanks for the info. Then a car it is!! now that I know that we will have to pick him up and drop off.Do all the recruits get the weekend off? I read somewhere that some get orders to ship out the next day.  Have any idea about this?

Hello all! I'm new to this... but my husband arrived to RTC on March 20th and is Ship 04/Div 812. No personal letters from him yet, but hopefully this week! :)

Anyone know anything about when SRs usually fly out of Chicago for their A-Schools? Just trying to plan ahead for our trip in May.

@ Jaimers,

Sorry I haven't replied sooner.  I am challenged on this whole set-up still.  I haven't made travel arrangements yet, but I am hoping to get that done this week. Have you made yours?  So looking forward to some news from my son.    So have you had a daughter go through boot camp?  Is that what "dau" is?  I read their crazy schedule that sjtina posted, yikes!  I'm tired thinking about it.  Do you know what kind of things to bring to them for after graduation?  Can they receive gifts?  Hope to hear from you again.  Maybe our sons have met?

Mamaroo

Still waiting to hear from my son  04/812. Any updates?
