For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Im just glad us parents/wives/GF can all come together, to encourage each other and our future sailors, to support them/lean on each other and pray for them. Wooo PIR 5/11 here we come !!!!!

Hi Navy Moms,
So can anyone tell me any info on the flags? Is six flags a good number? I don't know how many they are able to get? I am so proud of them! Only a few more days ladies until graduation, excited does not even describe it! I hear many of you are going to Sarge's Meet and Greet. I hope I can make it and meet you! Have a wonderful Monday!

RTC Flags and Awards
At each Pass-In-Review, the six recipients of awards will be announced. The Award Winners are chosen among recruits who go before a board of RTC personnel for inspection and questions. RTC sends a letter to a recruit's home of record to inform families that their recruit has earned an award and received special recognition at graduation.
The following is a description of the six awards:
MILITARY EXCELLENCE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit who best exemplifies the qualities of enthusiasm, devotion to duty, military appearance and behavior, self-discipline and teamwork. This is the #1 award a recruit can earn.
NAVY LEAGUE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit whose enthusiasm, supportive attitude, and willingness to help others during their training period exceeded Navy training standards.
MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit whose meritorious performance in recruit training demonstrated exceptional professionalism, maturity, integrity and leadership.
MILITARY ORDER OF THE WORLD WARS OF AWARD OF MERIT: Presented to the graduating recruit whose meritorious performance in recruit training demonstrated motivation and dedication to duty.
UNITED SERVICES ORGANIZATION SHIPMATE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit whose enthusiasm, supportive attitude and willingness to help others during their training period exceeded Navy training standards.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit who maintained the highest academic and assessment standards throughout all phases of training. Awarded after closeout of test two.
Possible RTC Flags:
Hall of Fame Flag - Overall average of 4.70 or higher. Must have earned all evaluation flags (including subsequent awards).
CNO Honor Division Flag - Overall average of 4.50 or higher. Must have earned at least ONE flag in each evaluated area.
Battle "E" Flag - Overall average of 4.35 or higher. Must have earned at least ONE flag in each evaluated area.
Compartment Readiness (STAR) Flag - Awarded for obtaining a 4.0 average in compartment cleanliness, locker inspections and bunk make up inspections.
Drill Flag - Awarded for receiving a 4.0 or higher on drill assessment.
Physical Fitness (A) Flag - Awarded for receiving a 3.50 on first physical assessment and a 4.0 or higher on second assessment.
Scholastic (S) Flag - Awarded to divisions which receive a minimum of 4.0 on academic test.
Captain's Cup Olympics Flag - Awarded to the division who wins most events during Olympic Competition. Special Flags- Carried by ceremonial units (900's) or sponsored divisions.
Personal Flag - Flag which is designed by the division.
And the Color Company flag..the one most coveted.

If you are going to the Meet and Greet; Sarge suggested that you make your name badge and be creative he also suggested if mom's want to do a small Mystery gift exchange something from your home state!!!

Just got off the phone with my son, he sounded good (and TIRED). Way to go Div 812, so proud of all of you! You are officially Sailors! Congratulations to all you moms for your sons' accomplishments and to you for raising strong, young men!

My son is a sailor too! But I didn't get the call :( his girlfried did and she said they only talked for 15 min and then he was told to hang up the phone. I'm so bummed. What happened to the hour long phone calls? Friday really can't come soon enough now... I feel robbed!!!!!
On another note... CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE FINE MEN OF THIS DIVISION!!!! And Congratulations to all their supporting families at home too. It takes a village to support these men, and I know it's not easy, but we will love them every step of the way! HOOYAH!!

Our phone call actually came while I was home for lunch--perfect timing--so my husband and I both got to talk to our son. He's tired and was coughing, but happy to be done and looking forward to the weekend.
No longer a recruit . . . . now a sailor! Congratulations to all our hard-working, competent, smart young men!
