Boot Camp Mom's Prayer

God bless my recruit as he meets this day

I pray that he has the strength to find his way

As reveley wakes him so loud and clear

I pray your love will lead him, and he will show no fear

If there's danger and if there's strife

Please send Angels to guard his life

Keep him safe and hold him near

Bless my recruit, I hold him dear

Until he moves on to PIR day

Bring peace to our hearts

And strength to our faith

(Many thanks to our own 'teeny' for sharing!)

LOL

Matts mom to cool I love the way you think! Our SRs are going to love all the letters. I wish  we could send them some care packages but I guess that will come in time.

Does anyone know if all our SRs are in the same SO and heading to pre-BUDs after BC?

Sjtina I just read about your son. So sorry about the severe headaches he was getting. I pray he will be able to try again and make it next time? GOD bless him! What is your son doing in the meantime? As far as joining the jersey mom group, I have been looking at it but have not joined as of yet. Next time I go on the site I will. You name the time and place I would love to meet with you.

Chris's mom we flew into Milwaukee and it wasnt that much further than O'Hare.

Chris's mom my prayers are with you! So sorry your husband and son can not make the trip. Are there any type of shuttles that go from the airport to one of the hotels? We are driving from NJ so this is one headache I do not have. Have you booked a hotel yet? We have not. Do you know how far in advance they should be booked? As far as hearing from my son no letter yet. I know what you mean that you just NEED to hear from him. I feel exactly the same way! I have eaten every thing in my path because I miss him so much! At this rate I'm going to gain 300lbs buy the time May comes!

Has anyone received a letter other than the note with the form letter? I have not and I am ready for another word from my boy.  I have been feeling like Wednesday might be the day. If they have time to write on Sunday then maybe Wednesday right?  He did warn me that he was not planning on doing "a lot" of writing. I wonder what his definition of "a lot" is?????

Hey Ladies,

I was just on the RTC facebook page. They have a Trivia Tuesday contest and a Whacky Wednesday photo contest. If you win either of these contests, you get to request a division and they take a photo and post it on the RTC facebook page. A photo!! I sure would love to see my son's face. If anyone else face books. Let WIN that contest!!! I'll try my best tomorrow on the whacky photo.

Hi chris's mom! my son is in the same Ship and DIV as your son. I thought pretty much everyone on this site had a son in this DIV. I'm so glad things are working out for you. If you need anything when we are out there in May I will be more than happy to lend a helping hand.

Matts mom I still have not received a letter! Bummer!!! As far as facebook I am on it but i'm not very good at it. I will see if my husband can get on RTC facebook page. I would LOVE to win that picture. I want to see my son so bad.

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a great day today-- it's Wednesday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are letters on the way to each of our mailboxes today! :)

I made hotel reservations at the Hilton; it's about 10-15 miles away and it's gotten good reviews from others on this site and when I've searched the net. Also-- they will give you the military rate if you ask for it or tell them why you're 'there.' The reservations person said that I may have to ask my son to present his military ID in the 'worst scenario but most likely they won't." Here's the link if you'd like to have more info: hiltongardeninn.hilton.com

I think we will be flying into O'Hare and (hopefully) using "Sarge" :) I haven't made flight reservations yet :)

I also asked my SR to let me know if there are others in his division who are not receiving mail-- so I'll share if he provides any.

@MattsMom-- I tried to find the Trivia Tuesday and the Wacky Wednesday on the FB RTC site for this week and didn't find it... has it been posted yet? I'm with you-- let's see if we can win so we can see some pictures of our recruits! :D

I am so grateful for this group and this entire site-- it's been a safehaven, a blessing and a wealth of information and I look forward to seeing and meeting you all in about 45 days (not that I'm counting) ;)

Hi All,

I feel the same way as AuburnMom and Chris's Mom this site has been a true blessing for me. It is so nice to be able to connect with moms who know how I feel. I love reading all the posts as well. I don't know about you ladies but I can't help but feel bitter when friends and some family members tell me it's just like he's in college he's fine! It cuts me to the core of my soul!!!!

Chri's mom thanks so much for the letters your students wrote to our SRs. I wish I was a fly on the wall to see their reactions.

I wrote to my son and gave him all of your screen names to see if he could match up his ship mates with there moms. I thought it would be nice for them to know that we are communicating with each other.

I have not received a letter as of yet. Praying that we all will before the end of this week! Gods Blessings

Thursdays seem to be a good day to get letters. Hoping you all hear from your sons. Watch out mail person, mom on a mission. lol

LOL at sjtina! I think we've all become mailman stalkers and mailbox lurkers!! :)

sorry ladies, i have been off of this site for about a week and just catching up.  This site is a blessing and we area all in need of the support.  I am hoping to get a letter from my son today but i dont think he is much of a writer.  I already made my reservations for the navy lodge  coming in on thursday the 17th and leaving monday.  Now all i have to do is get a rental car.

does anyone know if we have to get a parking pass to pick them up for their liberty on sat and sunday?
