Hey =)

I had started a discussion at another place, but figured this was a better spot for it.  I just wanted to start a place where we could all chat that our children were in the same group.

My name is Candy and my son is a 4th generation sailor on his dad's side. I am so proud of him. His father was in the Navy and I was Air Force. He did a little bit of college and decided that it wasn't for him. He is going to Mississippi for A school to be a SeeBee builder.

So glad I was told about this site.

If any of you need Phone Cards for your SR...go to Calls for Recruits.org and get them for FREE....they send FREE Pre-Paid Phone Cards for Recruits in Boot Camp!!!

thanks for this post...I did this too and sent my daughter 6 phone cards for 20 min. each.  so easy to do....and you can get more if you need to.  we sent her with a phone card, but hope the division could use them....thanks again.

My name is Jean and my son is also Ship 07 Div 163.  No one in our family has been in the military, so it's a new experience for me, and I really don't know much about it.  My son did a bit of college and also decided it wasn't for him now.  I think his A school will be in San Diego for Sonar Tech.

Hi Jean, My name is Jane, son Nathan is also ship 07, Div 163.  Thinking  A school in Great Lakes, all of this can be rather overwhelming, so glad for this site.

Welcome aboard Jean!

My name is Laura and my son is Ship 07 Div 163.  This is a first for our family.   Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi LauraLynn our sons same ship and div,my son called today how about your's.  Called at 3:15 I was at work and certainly did not expect a call at the time and on a wednesday.  Great to hear his voice, I have been a cryer, look at this site often, checked out other recommended sites this is helped me alot.  Vent if you need to!

I got a letter from my son today; the first since shipping out to BC.    My heart aches with pride!

I got the first and only letter yesterday.  Cant wait until they are able to call

Welcome Jean and Laura. =)  Sorry I haven't been on much lately. I've been working way too much. Anyways, glad you guys have joined us. =)

I got my letter yesterday. I scared my husband to death. I came running in the house yelling for him and my youngest. He thought that I had gotten hurt. lol  He sounds a little lost and lonely, but he's doing well. I so just wanted to wrap my arms around him and tell him how much I loved him. He said if they do good that he thinks they will be able to call on Sunday. I so hope he gets to.

My husband is ex Navy and I'm ex Air Force. If you have any questions I would be happy to help. Just let me know. =)

Now I'm disappointed, as I didn't get a letter from my son yet.  I'm assuming they all get a chance to write at the same time.
