Hey there! Just a place for family of SRs in Ship 09 (USS John F Kennedy) Division 146 to get together and chat, ask questions, and discuss whatever. :)  I'm new to this, so anyone who has a heads up on anything regarding the ribbons (LaLa Ribbon Queen I believe is who we need to contact) and stuff like Sarge's Meet-and-greet, feel free to enlighten the rest of us!

Curious about WHERE exactly at RTC your recruits barracks are? Check out this diagram of the RTC.

When you go to FB in the search type in Navy Training Command and it will go to the FB home Page then just click on photo`s.. I haven`t seen our Division but it is still cool.

http://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand This is the one that walks around RTC taking random pics throughout the week, lol

It was debated if this pic was 146 or 148. Kinda hard to tell some of them apart when they're all dressed the same and have their heads shaved. haha Joann and I think we see our husbands in this one. They both gave us an idea of where they may have been standing that day (my hubs actually DREW me a lil diagram of where he thought he was in line that day, lmao!)

I saw that one, It was so hard to tell, I thought I saw my son but not sure and your eyes can play tricks. I think it is so nice they allow them to take picture and post them...

my son is the third one on the second group..

This is definitely Div. 146.  Our son is clearly visible, and he confirmed in a letter that he saw the photographer out of the corner of his eye...they're supposed to keep their eyes straight ahead and get dinged when they get caught looking around!

Definitely  146 I can see my Husband there. And actually when he call I ask him!

Have to say I am stalking on your group..LOL...y'all get more info from your SR's so I decided to catch up through all of you. They are all there together and PIR same day so we really are all family :)

Welcome BCMom!

Haha! Feel free to stalk us all you want. I sometimes veer off into the other groups too when I see they have a bunch of recent posts. Interesting to see how the others are doing. :)

I do the samething, it also helps pass the time.. Regardless of what Division we are all going through the same thing...

Got another letter today. Either my hubs is really into writing a lot or one or two are just now catching up to us.

They had their live fire this past week. Hubs was excited cause he scored a 218 so he got the bronze s for his uniform and the "sharpshooter" ribbon. :) Guess they've been getting a LOT more PT too. The one RDC has been really running them lately and even inducted a new rule that when he's present, they must be standing (or kneeling...absolutely NO sitting). Hubs seemed to think he might even make them stand at chow if they screw up anything. Instead of just one getting "BEAT" for a mistake, they're at the phase now where they ALL get it if someone messes up.

He seemed bummed out at the beginning of the letter, but by the end he seemed much more like his happy self. (the letter was over the course of like 3 days i think).

He was also really excited to get to talk to some submariners and pick their brains a bit. Every once in a while they get some time to sit and chat with "Non-RDC petty officers" and ask them any questions they want about the navy, ratings or life in general.

Felt bad that he had a rough start in the letter, but I think it was just a rough day. He has to keep reminding himself that they're pushing them and pushing them to break them down and build them back up "properly". :)

Also in his letter he said they "flagged for zone". ??? He was talking about compartment inspections prior to that, so I'm assuming it had to do with that. lol He also said they seem to be getting more on point in their marching, so drill flag may be in their near future! *crossing fingers* RDC keeps telling them they're not division 146, but 14____ (fill in the blank with another word that starts with 's'). The RDC also keeps telling them they're the worst division he's ever seen. ;) I'm betting he's just saying it so they become more determined to perfect themselves and things will start falling into place.

OH! They are at 78 recruits. Though I don't know if this number is before or after the one they just acquired. One that was ASMO'ed (or pushed back in training for a bit). Hubs said it looks to be working out well having the addition because the guy is I guess taking up kind of a leadership role.

Alright! That's enough for now! haha! just wanted to share the update we got. :) Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Almost 2 weeks to go ladies!!

I can't believe it.

It's such a relieve being here writing w y'all. definitely make days go faster and is great to meet you guys. I hope we can see each other and give us finally a hug for ALL those weeks being supporting each other... Great Night, and have a great week! <3
