Hey there! Just a place for family of SRs in Ship 09 (USS John F Kennedy) Division 146 to get together and chat, ask questions, and discuss whatever. :)  I'm new to this, so anyone who has a heads up on anything regarding the ribbons (LaLa Ribbon Queen I believe is who we need to contact) and stuff like Sarge's Meet-and-greet, feel free to enlighten the rest of us!

Curious about WHERE exactly at RTC your recruits barracks are? Check out this diagram of the RTC.

My kids are 7 and 2, I am doing okay, seems to get a little easier everyday and writing the letters makes me feel tons better!  And for me it's not as bad because hes only 3-4 hours away!  I can't wait to hear from him!  How are you getting along?

Here's info on the PIR Ribbons:

Okay. So a lot of the division families do these ribbon. In addition, some also order the scarves with an anchor and div # on them, picking out a particular set of colors for THEIR division. Was sitting here thinking, I'd love to do something like that, but being MAY, who is going to want to wear a fleece scarf?

Anyone have an other ideas? Maybe LaLaRibbonQueen could do up something like handkerchiefs with the division # and anchor?

I like the idea of the ribbon, and I'm definitely order ribbons for my family. But also like the idea of some other commemorative item that can be used over and over. Start brainstorming....ready?.....GO!

Or maybe scarves, just NOT made from fleece.

Kiki- I thought the same thing. I'm thinking of getting 4 ribbons ($30 shipping included) and saw that she made bags too. With summer around the corner idk about scarfs. Although another idea could be blankets too for a keepsake. Good for both male and female. She has super cute anchor material too!

Im tempted to get one of the fleece scarfs anyway because I really like the US Navy print one she has. I like the bags too. My SR's grandmother used to make some just like them. Thinking I might bug her and see if the fabric shop she works at happens to have that fleece. If nothing else, I can make hubs a blanket maybe.
