Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 097 and 098

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Sonnie, Emptynester77 and taylorsierra, I am going to be there.  My son, too said he was sick.  I got a letter today, and started jumping around like I won the lottery!!!  He really likes the physical training.  He said they marched 2 miles with a 40 lb backpack.  And he said he's losing weight...gosh, he was too skinny before he went in.  He's built cuz he's been lifting weights and training for a couple years now...He said he's getting more toned though.  And the food is terrible, which is why he said he's probably losing weight.  The worst part is not getting enough sleep.  Before he left I promised him that if we ever do any family things that we'll be sure to include his girlfriend.  And he said, "I was going to ask you to do that, Mom...thanks for offering".  She's been so supportive of everything, so he asked if I'd call her at least once a week, and go out to dinner with her, like him and I used to do.  Ooops, tearing up here.  I want to reserve a room at the Navy Lodge...do you think it's booked up, yet?

Hello, my boyfriend is currently in 098! can't wait till graduation day, will any of you be there??

It appears Sonnie and myself (Emptynester) will be there.  I'm planning on staying at the Navy Lodge as suggested by many and definitely want to attend Sarge's Meet and Greet!

I will be there, too.  I was wanting to book at the Navy Lodge, as well.  Do you think it's full, yet?  I was hoping to stay both Thur and Fri night, and see him off at the airport Saturday.

We are staying at the Navy Lodge, too. I hope we get there in time for the Meet and Greet. We're driving that day from Arkansas.

Sonnie, If you can....please keep checking on US Navy Recruits FB page.  Every Tuesday they post a Trivia Tuesday question.  Whoever answers it in the correct format, that they will request when posting, first, gets to have their Division's picture posted on FB...We would get to se our SR!!!

I just booked it online and was confirmed right away. I got one with a kitchen in case our 'sailor' doesn't want to go out.

Love your wee message at the bottom of your post!

GREAT idea, cuz our SR told us that the food is terrible!!! He's lost weight, which more than likely to all of the PT.  But he is fit, and lifts weights, but thin...I can't see WHERE he'd lose weight. LOL  I told him probably more than anything he's going to want a home cooked meal LOL

Uh oh, it's not available on the evening of the 7th.  I was thinking we were leaving after graduation but when I went back to ask for that date, they said they were booked and I need to keep calling back to see if it becomes available.  I'm thinking about going somewhere else. I don't want to have to change hotels.

You can always make reservations at another hotel and keep your Navy Lodge reservation. Keep checking with the Navy Lodge for availability, if something doesn't open up a couple weeks before PIR you can cancel the Navy Lodge, if something does cancel the other. Don't wait until the last minute though as others will be looking for a place too.

My SR IS SHIP 11 div 99 we tried to book navy lodge it was full for march 7th. Even still I am very excited to be there!

Any suggestions when making flight reservations.  I am going to schedule a flight to arrive on Thursday but do I return on Saturday or Sunday.  Did anyone call the brochure that came with it for their help.  I reserved a room at Navy Lodge based upon all the favorable comments here so I am excited about that.
