Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 159 and 160

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

YEA!!!!! I got a handwritten letter today!!!! He started out sounding sad, because he misses home so much, it made me tear up. But as he went along telling me what was going on, he sounded better. This is the longest he has been away with out being able to call or text any time he wanted. He said he just keeps reminding himself that the boot camp is nothing like the Navy.

Just got a phone call right now made my whole day !!!! They get a phone call a week and are at random so don't always depend for it to be on the weekend always keep your phone on you at all times on loud (: hope other got calls as well

I got a phone call today too!  My son said it was a random thing that they were able to make a call today.  So glad I had my cellphone in my hand when it rang!  He said they got their uniforms and they look real nice.  He also said the PIR on May 2nd is the last one where they will be wearing the blue sailor uniform, after that sailors will graduate wearing the white ones.  Didn't even know they switched colors with the seasons.

Got off the phone with my son a little while ago. I was so shocked to see the ILL area code, I almost could not get it answered. lol. I know they only get one call a week, and this was probably it, but I will still have my phone handy all the time. He also called his dad at work. Only had time to tell him he loved him, but that was all his dad needed. He did tell me that after the 4th week they will not be calling again, till the "I'm a Sailor Call". I hope that is not the case, but at least he warned me.  Have a good evening ladies.

I am so happy for you my sailor also told me that they will be in their dress blues for graduation and it changes the week after them .(: hope that helps

I got a call from my man today aswell!!!! It was AMAZING to hear from him!!! He told me that he isn't 100% sure but that that might have been the last call he would be able to make before the graduation (or "I'm a sailor" call, which I didn't know existed lol). He said that everyone's still coughing but that he's doing good and has made friends which have helped the homesickness. He cant wait for his graduation!!! I also told him to leave me a voicemail that I could replay whenever I wanted, and he did :) And he's been mailing my letters to his grandmas house so hopefully she'll be calling me soon with some news on them! Take care everyone!

Our SR called earlier, it was such a surprise, he was concerned with the time difference that he wouldn't get me. I told him not to worry the phone is always close buy and even if I was working at the time of a call I would answer. He was happy to hear that. His cough has gone but now looks like he needs to have his wisdom teeth out. He is worried he will get behind if they do the teeth now. He also said they will be in blue's for PIR we may not hear from him for several weeks this was just a call for us not to worry but to continue with lots of letters. He is excited and tired, and says it is all good. It was just so good to hear  his voice. Love that boy so much and so proud of him.

Hi Donna,

My son called me yesterday too, he is also getting two of his wisdom teeth out and informed me that I might not get a call for awhile. It was great to hear from him but I can't wait to see him at PIR. Take Care,

Trish Keith's Mom Ship 09 Div 159

I finally got my son's first letter. It explained why he didn't call. He had his wisdom teeth out. Then his best friend/girlfriend got the call yesterday because he didn't want to bother me at work. He thought work wouldn't like me to talk to him. I was glad she shared her letters from him. He pored his heart out to her. Then she told me how she felt about him. He doesn't know. I could see it recently. He didn't think I was right. She's been supportive to me too. Glad she's a decent kid. I found out he's passed his swim and physical qualification already. Glad he's on track. Guess he told her the next call is 45 mins and they both said I get that one. I'm feeling a lot better now. It was interesting to read how much growth is happening. He said he's actually having fun. The RDC's making them laugh. That was awesome to hear.

Hi everyone,

We didn't get any phone call this past weekend. I guess I got spoiled from 2 Saturdays in a row!Ship 09 Div160

Hello, Pamela

From the last call I received on Friday, my SR said it will be several weeks before he will be able to call again. Not sure as to why this is prob lots of training going on. I will be happier when I can hear his voice again.
