Would love to connect and hear from those of you with a son/dau in the same Ship 10/Dvision 167 group.  We received our "Box" today and the form letter from Chase.  Were hoping & looking forward to his call/'s and letters between now and when we see him on 4/23/10.  We have so many questions and so curious/anxious to hear about everything going on.

Looking forward to hear from you all. Have a great evening!

Hi Tracy-good to hear from another mom from our division. Maybe we will get a phone call soon-keeping my fingers crossed. I've only received one letter so far but Kurtis said he was doing fine and sounded really up beat too. Kurtis said he was with a really good group of guys-it sure sounds that way. I'm so proud of all of them!
Take care-Renee
Hello everyone -

Hope everyone is getting plenty of mail by this point in time. Have received five letters from my son Matt. Sounds like he's tired and hungry but is doing what he needs to be doing, including bathroom cleaning duty! We have received one extremely short call (not counting the one he made to let us know he arrived at boot camp safely). Looking forward to PIR and seeing my son!
Hi everyone,
My son Brian is also in Div 167. I'm sorry it took me so long to find this thread. I just found out about N4M about a week ago and just had time to "browse" now and found this thread. I've only had 1 brief call from my son but have had several letters. Ugh. He's just like his father. Never talks about his "feelings" or whether or not he misses us. Just states the facts. The "fact" is, I want to kick his butt for not showing SOME emotions since I've been on a rollercoaster ride since bootcamp has started! lol. Anyway, has anyone heard definitely WHEN their BS21 is? The suspense of all of this is killing me and I want to throw up! Ugh. The Navy is trying to teach a control freak patience - good luck! hehe. We live in NY and will be driving in for PIR (about a 15 hr drive). We'll probably arrive around 3pm Thursday, check in, unpack, go get something to eat and then go to sleep (yeah. right. sleep. like THAT'LL happen lmao). I already packed a bag for Brian and have most of my bag packed already too. I'm ready NOW. Don't think I'm gonna make it till Wed. for that call though. I'll be praying for ALL our men/women that they pass BS21 and have a WONDERFUL liberty weekend with their family/loved ones. Can't wait to meet all of you!

Hugs & Prayers,
Margaret
Hi Margaret!
I got a good chuckle reading your note! We're not getting too much in the way of "feelings" either altho the tone of Matthew's letters has been good. I'm sure that he and the rest of 167 will be working hard to get thru BS, especially after seeing all the other divisions pass and everyone making their "i'm a sailor" phone calls! Only a couple more days! Hang in there!

Safe driving! amy
Hi Amy!
It's been a long, tough road huh? Hey, I mean FOR US MOMS! NOT OUR KIDS!! LOL - jk. For EVERYONE! We're so proud of our "kids", but I hope they realize one day how much WE suffer when THEY suffer! It's almost over guys. It just sucks (pardon the word) that we're the last div. to go through BS and we have to wait the longest. I was really hoping to hear from Brian this weekend to put some of my fears to rest (at least a letter if not the phone call - I've only had ONE phonecall from him since bc started and it was MAYBE 5 min's). Nothing. I should have known not to expect it, but I was still hoping. I know they must be so busy and so nervous right now. Hopefully they're ready for BS and ready to kick a**! lol.I'm so nervous and on edge I'm ready to barf....but do you think I'd lose any weight with all this worry - Noooooooo! dang. lmao. Anyway, we're all in this together and soon enough it will be OUR turn to write on the posts that we've gotten our "I'm a Sailor" call and we can cry, rejoice, and yes, even breathe again! :)
Hi Margaret! i've been reading all the comments on the PIR group site but it makes the waiting sooooo hard! We've only received two phone calls this whole time, the last one on the 10th. Matt sounded so tired and sick he could barely converse with us. We got 30 minutes of uh-huhs and un-huhs but that was better than nothing at all!! This next call will the sweetest of all. We're almost there!
AMEN Matt's Mom.......... Our groups go the 21st into BS! I know they will do well, and hope everyone gets that Last Important call! I can't wait to sleep good again...LOL
Ladies, my house was in a fire a couple of days ago and I have to go to a public place to use their YiFi. I miss this site so much. However, I did get my call from my very very tired recruit after battle stations and it was just after the fire, so it was the light at the end of the tunnel.

What color is our division's color for PIR? I am leaving after work Thursday from Maryland with my sister and even though I won't be able to make the meet and greet, I can' wait to just be around you great ladies.

Before the fire, I was on this site twice a day and loved reading the heartfelt comments and felt that I had sisters that shared this experience with me.

I am only able to be on the internet for another 45 minutes because of ministry, so if someone could catch me up on anything pertinent to know for PIR that would be great! I did get the parking pass and have the car, hotel and airlines set.

Thanks Ladies. This week has been a blur!
Hi,
I'm so sorry for all you've gone through these pass few weeks. Is there anything I can do to help you????? The colors for each of the divisions are as follows: One of the moms had suggested wearing a scarf in your div color
163 - blue
164 - red
165 - white
166 - green
167 - yellow
168 - pink
810 - orange
923 - purple

I would suggest making a couple copies of the parking pass. Also, don't forget your camera, binoculars, umbrella, lint brush. Our son Chase is in Division 167 and going through BS21 tonight. We are the last ones to get our " I'm a Sailor" call. UGGGGG I'm so excited for this weekend and looking forward to meeting everyone. If you have any problems or questions, your welcome to text, email or call me. We will arrive in Chicago on Thursday morning and staying at the Residence Inn. Be safe and hope your travels go well

I am sry I had my home burn in 2001 it was a real bad experience. I know how you feel, I will keep you in my prayers! Congrats to your Sailor.... And God Bless you, and keep your chin up everything will be ok!
Hi all. THIS IS IT!!! OMG I'm so nervous I have to keep running to the bathroom...They start BS around 8pm tonight and finish sometime bet. around 8 and 10:30 am (Central Time)...I'm on Eastern Time so if the calls start around 3 or 4, that means I will be GLUED to my phone tomorrow from 4:00 on (which is the exact time I get home from work Thank God!). I can't sleep or eat - let ALONE concentrate at work!! It's a good thing my students are Autistic and don't understand how edgy and distracted I've been all week (HA! Can't IMAGINE how I'll be tomorrow!!). We're in NY and are driving there. We're guessing about 15 hours to get there with only Pit Stops and Gas. We're leaving around 11pm tomorrow night in case we get lost, etc. Unfortunately we won't make it to the M&G but look forward to seeing everyone at & after graduation. I have my yellow scarf and have packed the car for the trip along with a bag for Brian. Just have to make sandwiches for the ride and pack my last minute stuff. I think I'm gonna throw up!! hehe. Other than the pre-scripted "I'm here and O.K." phone call when they first got there, we've only had 1 phone call that lasted around 5 min's, so I CAN'T WAIT to hear his voice again. Hopefully his stress fracture on his ankle doesn't hinder his passing BS. That would kill him (and me!).

Sarahyu - I'm SOOOOOO sorry about your house fire! OMG! It's bad enough to have to go through something so traumatising, but NOW? You are in my prayers lady! Same here, if you need anything, PLEASE let me know (I know everyone on here will agree with that). My email is: Captivemom@optonline.net. I'm on Facebook as Margaret Nocera Brandon and my home phone is: (845) 462-0208. Even if it's just for a shoulder to cry on - I'd understand! Please don't hesitate! Just as our sons/daughters are in this as a team, so are us Navy Moms. We'll stick together!

Everyone enjoy their calls from their Sailors! I can't wait! Also, everyone please have a SAFE trip. We all want to get there in one piece! lol. Because we're going to have nervous breakdowns before/after PIR anyway, so PHYSICALLY we need to be O.K. I look forward to everyone's posts tomorrow night (even with all our packing and preparations, I KNOW we'll manage to have OUR say as everyone else has haha).

"HUGS"
