For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 131 and 132
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Good morning~ It is such a wonderful feeling what our kids are doing. We should be so proud of all of them. I did mention my oldest went in June 2012. You are right about letters. Loved Thursdays. That's when I would get mine. I think depending where you live, some loved Wednesdays. I live in CA. They should have wrote last Sunday. Crossing fingers we get something today. The divisions usally start with about 88 SR's. Unfortunately they will probably lose a few. When my oldest went in, he got along with everyone but did mention that there are a lot of different backrounds and have different additudes. Especially the younger ones that need to mature a little. They need to put egos aside and learn to work as a team. Don't worry. That will happen. My son's name is Joseph (Joe) but they may not even know their first names. My oldest still refers to his friends in there by last name and don't even know their first. HAHA!

My sons name is Joven! He is 20 so I'm hoping he's "ego free" for the sake of the group and thankfully hes always been on the mature side! I wrote him first thing this morning, did my own questionaire, hoping to get some answers.....he's all the things I mentioned above and more but also forthcoming with the info! Its wonderful that we have someone here who has done this all before, very helpful, Thanks!

Both my boys didn't go in right after high school. My oldest went in at 22 and went to college for 2 1/2 years. My youngest is 19, graduated 2012. Went to fire academy and college for 1 1/2. I wish he waited at least another year but he was ready. I hope their divisions will come together quickly. I can't wait to hear their stories.

I am from San Jose, CA but moved to a small town called Los Banos about 1 1/2 hr away. More Central Cal. Gets super hot here too. We pretty muched skipped winter this year. So sad. We need that rain.I know my son doesn't do cold very well either. LOL!!! It's funny becuase we went snowboarding right before he left to BC. HAHA!!

Got a phone call today!!! So great hearing his voice even though he's sick with a cold :( They get to write tomorrow so hold on the letters will be coming!

Good evening to All! This site is very informative..based on my research, the process of events has been happening like clock work as indicated..I received my letter on Feb.18th...so far, I am seeing comments of son's..any daughter's here too? lol..

Got a call today too! So they are getting a chance to call. My daughter sounds good, see cried at the beginning, middle and end of the call. I kept it from happening till I said I love you and bye.

It's a big deal from what I am reading. I was in the USAir Force and was a big deal for me. Don't remember to much but I was not the one watching. My family said was very emotional. Hope to see you at PIR. Gonna try to watch one of the live feed on a Friday so I will have some knowledge in case I' M a teary mess

SorinMom, they all feel the same way. When my son called yesterday, I told him he sound good and positive. His response was it sucks in there but he was trying to stay strong because that's what I told him before he left. Now that broke my heart. He also got strep and the flu the 2nd day he got there. They all get sick. Send positive letters. I pray your son will get through this. This is definitely a graduation you don't want to miss. It is remarkable and I cant believe I get to experience it again. My oldest son had 14 divisions at his PIR. 1,010 sailors. It was incredible. I hope you can make it.
