Hi all!  I thought this might be a good way for us to connect!  So took the advice of some other moms.  Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

Oh I hope so....especially now that Im seeing that most the others are getting some.
I am thinking that may be a division that was there before our sr's.  Hope I am wrong.

I think most of the divisions in this PIR group arrived before our SRs did, especially since our division is the highest number in this group. I was told before I got the letter that since my SR left home on the 18th he would be in the 3/18 group, so I'm assuming ours were either added in to Div 102 to fill it out or for some reason the whole division was put into this "fast-track" mode. But I really have no idea.

I will try to come to the Ramada, as I would love to meet you both. But my daughter and I are flying into O'Hare that afternoon and probably taking a shuttle or train to GL. My ex-husband is arriving on a later flight and he will be renting the car we will all be using, so I'm just not sure if the logistics will work out. If not, maybe we can meet after our SRs have to go back to the base on Friday night?

I'm in the Southwest and we got slammed today with a winter storm, and it's so icy outside I can't even get to my mailbox to check for mail! The only thing I want more than a letter is to NOT fall and break something that will hamper my  ability to come to graduation, lol!

so i have been on this i site everyday for the past 2 weeks and i never know what to say, and i still dont.. but its driving me crazy that i haven't received a letter yet.. its so frustrating......i really hoping that one comes soon i could really use it...
Its sad but Its comforting to see that no one else is getting correspondence in this group.  I would feel just awful knowing everyone else got something.  Is it terrible that I kind of hope my son is missing me?

Hi, schuja! We are all feeling the same frustration, but it is comforting to know we're not alone. I'm concerned that my SR will choose to sleep on Sundays rather than write home, since he 's not exactly the talkative type normally. Nothing he's ever done in life has remotely prepared him for boot camp, so of course I'm anxious about how he's dealing with everything. I keep hearing "no news is good news", so I'm trying to hold on to that.

When did your SR leave for boot camp?

Welcome to our little group schuja!  We are mainly just trying to support each other and so many times we are lamenting the fact that not mail or phone calls have come.

The main thing is to let your emotions out and to talk about things that concern you.

How old is your sr and boy or girl?  Are you an empty nester?

We are all a little nuts right now so we can be nutty together.

My son was a valet before he went to bc and I am so glad he is where he is as it is so cold here this morning. -13.  At least I know he is doing a job where he will be warmer even if he does have to shovel snow for awhile!

Amsred2 I am sure they miss us if no other reason than they might get a to be spoiled a little!  We are going to hear soon, but we need to hang in there and be strong.  I decided that last night after writing a whiny letter to my rc!  Didn't send it though!

my fiance left on January 18th out of Buffalo, ny...im looking forward to pir especially because its his 23rd birthday...

mysteryfan: i too worry that my sr is spending sundays sleeping.... but i keep telling myself to "assume positive intent" trying not to focus on the negative and just assuming hes too busy to write. i also read around here somewhere that sending already addressed labels is a good idea because it makes it a litle bit easier for our SR's and maybe saves them a minute or two...

I don't think there is a lot of time for Sunday sleep ins.  I have been informed by those who have gone before that if you don't go to church, or what ever your religious equivalent is, that you clean.  I also believe that they are expected to study The Bluejacket's Manual or what ever else they need to know or do.  So Sundays may have some down time but not the way we think of down time.
check your mail ladies!!! me and my fiances mom got letters today!!!! i guess they've been holding the mail back....
@#^%$@#^%  Nothing for me.  But then again...Im in California...and living on a base.  It may take a few days longer for mail to get to me.  I hope that's the case...
Congratulations! Nothing for me, either. Did he have any information about boot camp that you'd be willing to share with us news-starved people?
