Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 023 & 024

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Happy Thankgiving to all of you!!!!  I can hardly type as I too just got off the phone with my SR! I got too nervous and excited so I didn't answers I was wanting as I just mainly listened and we laughed together! However he said he will be calling back in 45 mins so perhaps I will be able to remember the things I wanted to ask this time! Man, I hope he's right and can call back! I feel so blessed and thankful too, cannec! Was your SR adopted by a church as mine was? I was so happy to hear that they would do that for our SR's! What a nice church! I am for sure sending them a thank you card when I find out the name of the place. :)

Oh! I did find out that they have yet two very hard tests to do and that the RDC's are on , and I quote, " a reign of terror" lately as they don't want the recruits slacking..... Poor guys and gals! So keep those letters in the mail still! They LIVE for mail. :) My son did however say that everyone was very happy today and having a greatttt meal! Lordie, my day went from dark to sunny in a manner of one sec from hearing his sweet voice! I pray you all recieve calls as well today! I don't know if everyone was granted liberty or just recruits that are about to graduate.

I pray it's everyone as I have lived the pain of waiting. Hang in there, you are not alone even if it feels that way sometimes.. Your wait will be over soon! My SR left Oct 1st and now Nov.22 I get my first call.  The pain left with it and now all is well again.

I just got a call from my son!!! He sounds so good and they had a great Thanksgiving meal at a local church. I'm so grateful for that church!!! What a blessing! They are getting to call most of the day for 15 min at a time, so be waiting on your call! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Me too!  Maybe they are at the same church.  My son said he was getting 15 min calls, he called his girlfriend, me and he's going to try and call his grandparents here in a little bit.  He also said they will get to make 1 hour phone calls tomorrow!  So grateful for the groups adopting all the sailors today!

And I got a picture of him via text message!  He looks great.  Has lost some weight and his BCG are soooo attractive, but he his still my baby boy and I was so surprised to get it!

If they all got adopted by the same church it's Gurnee Community Church.  That is where my SR is.

My SR was adopted by a family of another recruit. They let him use their cell phone and have had 2 calls and a few picture messages. I'm on cloud 9!! He did say they still have some tough tests to pass. I was so afraid of him losing weight too, but he says he has gained 14 pounds!!! I think it is only this TG that was able to have liberty, not sure. He sounded great and very focused. Hope you all are as happy and proud as I am at this moment. Truly grateful to the wonderful family that chose to take him with them.. THANK YOU!!! See you all in 7 days!

Mine was at Gurnee Church too and I also got a pic! So special!!!

I hope I did this right.  This is a link to the Gurnee Church and they have a bunch of pictures posted.  Saw my SR 7 times.  It's great to see them having such a good day!

Thank you so much Sailorsmomma!!!! I did not get a pic mail from my son but when I went to the church site  that you posted I was able to find a few pictures of him! As a fellow mom I know you get why I'm so thankful for your post! It was great seeing them having such a great time, wasn't it?!!?! ;)

Thanks for posting the website ! Almost forgot to Thank you yesterday! Was in such a hurry to go on and search, i for got !!!!

Bless your heart...Thank You !!!!

Hi all, Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'm so thankful for Gurnee Community Church and all their volunteers..My SR was able to call 3 times, share some Facebook time, and send us a picture! We couldn't have been more happier..well other then seeing him at PIR next week, LOL

So glad to hear you all have shared the same phone calls with your SR.

I want to send them a thank you card, and perhaps a donation for their genorosity. I heard there were about 3-4 divisions there, and they ate twice! Plus there were tons of candy in all the rooms, lol and they got to watch football and listen to music!
