While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 273 and 274
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Good morning all! Has anyone heard from their Division 273 recruit lately? I'm expecting a letter today as that's been the norm for Thursdays. No phone call since July 4th. I enjoyed the FB photos earlier this week but I'm ready for another update. Wondering how things are going within the division and what they are scheduled for in the next few days and upcoming week. Any information is appreciated. Have a blessed day!

I've been expecting a call and a letter too. I did receive a (earned) call last Sunday(12th). I was able to see my SR in the FB photos...needless to say have been on a cloud. I know this may seem corny and I didn't think I was like this, but It's like I'm falling in love over and over again. Blessings to all!

I got mail today! It wasn't a letter but 2 questionnaires I had mailed him. This was an absolute delight. Some of his responses were hilarious! He made side notes and comments, most were on que as to what I'd say if he and I were talking. That was alot of fun. It also included foods and items he wants me to bring PIR weekend as well as what he wants to do during his liberty time. I'm so glad that I sent the questionnaires to him.

Received a letter today! I would say Thursday's are going to be our favorite day of the week! My son also sent out letters to his girlfriend and his two sisters! He was busy writing. He remembered all our birthdays and had his humor still with him. He has terrible flat feet and his only complaint is that his feet hurt him every day...apparently he doesn't get insoles. This was a standing joke with us as I teased him his RDC wouldn't rub his feet for him like he would make me sometimes, so did he still want to join the Navy? Lol...so that he mentioned it was funny for us all.
Another comment was he is a petty officer of some kind and he has had to do 2 extra pt's a day for various things, but he said now it's only down to 1 extra so he said that was good...he laughed in his letter and said if this keeps up he's gonna look like the hulk at PIR!!
I gathered that between the "LOLs and the joking, he is tired and counting days to PIR! With that said, he loves getting letters, so all we can do for them is continue to send our support! I'm proud of him and all the div. 273 sr's!! -

Oh, I forgot. I know some of us would like to figure out where they are in terms of which week they are on. I'm not sure of the week, but he did mention they had just got fitted for their dress uniforms, and that they all look "really cool" in them. He can't wait for us all to see them for PIR!!

My son is in Div 273 and will be going to Mississippi after leaving Great Lakes, he said he has met one fellow shipmate who will be going with him, any of you have a son who will be going to Mississippi for A school after BC?
I have received 4 letters from my recruit, he seems to be doing really well. Wish he would call again would love to talk to him. He says he is eating a lot more healthy salads 3 x day, fruit 3 x day, lots of peanut butter for the protein and drinking lots of water and gave up the pop ( tried to get him to do a lot of this before he left home), but hey what do we know. It's amazing what a few short weeks can do for them, he already talks so different in his letters, he talks so grown up. It was really tough when he left, he turned 18, graduated high school and left for boot camp all within a 4 week period, so he had to grow up really fast and it hit all at once. Now he is signing all of his letters your future sailor...... THAT MAKES ME SO PROUD!!!!! August 14th can not come soon enough.
Do all of you plan to attend the meet and greet? My husband and I along with my in laws will be there, with a basket from Indiana to raffle off.

Got a call today from my sailor! Said division is doing well. They have indeed moved to Ship 6. So happy to hear from my son!

Received a call from my future Sailor and indeed he informed me that they moved ship 13 to ship 06 and the address has chgd as well. Asked if he was eating good and he said "Oh Yea". I asked if he was sleeping good and he said he will tonight because the mattresses seem more comfy. Monday starts week 4 first day (4/1)

y'all have no idea how happy I am to hear that they have indeed moved to Ship 6! i was afraid my SR was in Ship 5 overflow. My hope that my SR can stay is renewed! Sadly, my phone malfunctioned and dropped his incoming call :-( I hope he calls again soon!
