Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 273 and 274

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I guess ship 06 is mostly to hold over for maintenance in ship 13. Anyways, that is what I have gathered from the reading on this site. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong! ;)

Hi LaCheez,

We got a phone call on Saturday from our SR!  He said Ship 6  was the ship Div 273 should have been in, but the the building was not ready to move in on time.  He did say the storage area is larger, and matress is better.

Oh, ok...thanks for the info! That sounds much nicer for the divisions!! Any bit of comfort helps!!

Divisions changing ships while in BC is not unusual, there are many reasons for the move. I am guessing, and it is only a guess, that BC is filling up, and the move to ship 06 is because of this. Maintenance of a ship is also a reason for moving, but those recruits moving to ship 06 are coming from several different ships this time, and generally when it is for maintenance they are coming from the same ship. Who knows, the Navy does what the Navy does. :)

There are approx 5700 recruits who are currently in training right now, and that doesn't include those in FIT or RCU. so very full. :)

We got a letter from our SR! I know it's over a week old, so the information is pretty dated. He mentioned the potential to be sep'd and was upset about it. However, he also mentioned that he was elevated to Ship's Staff. Hopefully, that will bode well for him getting a waiver. I just want to know either way. This limbo is not a fun place for any of us (him included) to be in.

So, still praying in Okinawa!

Got my BC survey/questionairre back today...I am so glad I sent it. He filled it out and filled in the blanks along the way with extra details and funny comments! So glad I found it on this website! Getting 2 FULL letters in one day was extra special...I had to send it in 3 separate letters cause it was so long...printer wouldn't let me do double-sided. I recommend sending it double sided tho! He is very proud to be a part of this division...even saying they got compliments from RDC for how high they hv scored!! Go 273!! HOOYAH!! They still get IT, but received BRAVO-ZULUs which are extra points for inspections he said!!;)

LaCheez, what is a hv score?

Sorry, I just abbreviated the word have...I meant "how high they have scored"

Thanks.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything with the shooting in Tennessee, if there is any concern about our loved ones being on liberty in their uniform?  Is this a concern?

Hi Navy Moms,

Does any one else get emotional just reading the posts of all you all....I laugh , I cry....whew! Thank you LaCheez for your update on the inspections....I whooped for joy on that one. I'm so glad your son likes his div. I've been praying for them all that they can bond and kick butt, and looky here you say they received high scores...HOORAY!

I've received one personal  letter thus far, but I hear he has been trying to write everyone that writes him and I know I'm going to get the biggest smile and hug that I can even imagine so it's worth the wait. I am getting anxious and I can't imagine the sparks that will be flying off me when it gets closer to 8/14. I'm going to have to really concentrate to be able to function and not to mention sleep. Thank you all for all that you do as Navy moms, you are indeed the backbone of America...GO NAVY!!!

Hi! What was the update on their inspections? I'm praying for a letter today.
