For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I found this on the Navy for Mom's facebook page, I was doubting myself for writing too much and then I read this, I know what I am doing tonight. I can't even imagine:
What Mail Call looks like to a recruit....
One of the moms in another division rec'd a letter from her son and he was so upset he hadn't gotten much mail from home. Having been through boot camp myself, let me tell you what Mail Call looks like through the eyes of a recruit. Mail call happens every night after 1-1 day. It's usually right before lights out when your recruit is exhausted having been up since oh-dark-thirty and been screamed at and pushed to the limit all day. The one thing they have to take their minds away from the literal hell they are in is a letter from home.
So there they are, all lined up on the black line. There's two lines, half of the recruits on one side, half on the other, facing each other. It's the one time they listen intently, hoping to hear their name called. The mail PO stands at the head of the group and calls the names one at a time. Some names get called 9 or 10 times, others never get called. But every day the hope is the same.....I remember the girls who never got mail and they would wait with their head down so no one would see the tears roll down their faces. I was lucky, I got mail every day, but your SR's will tell you that some get none, and they really need it. when you talk to your recruit, get the names of those that need mail. And if you're reading this, then write your recruit EVERY DAY. It matters.So lets try to get letters to as many in our "kids" division as we can. I am going to have my 6 year old daughters write some random letters to mail with KJ's tonight.

I had a dream about my daughter last night that was so real. She snuck me into boot camp. So now that I'm hearing letters are coming I'm a nervous wreck again! I miss her so much and can't wait to hear how she is!

I received 5 letter from SR today!!! She loves the food but says she is tired. Sounds fantastic though! I couldn't decide to cry or laugh with joy to get them! -

So excited! Received my first letter from Tyler today!!! WAHOO!! Says he's being fed better there than at home, and I am actually a pretty good cook, so the food must be pretty great. Says he's glad P Days are over, and that his RDC is pretty fun when he's not in training mode!
His mood was upbeat, so it makes me feel SO much better!!

Yeah for letters, we got ours today too. Well his mom did, rightfully so but she called me and read it to me :) I was kinda secretly kinda hoping I had one at home too but that's ok. He said that the food was good and he passed his sit ups, running, push-ups etc. That made me feel wonderful because the run he was having a little bit of a hard time with before hand. Sounded very upbeat so that was good too. Said they give them 15 minutes to eat and they all try to study while eating. Guess you have to learn REAL quick to multi task in the military.

Hey ladies, I haven't heard a whole lot from any of you lately so I just wanted to say hi and make sure you are all enjoying your letters from your SR's :) I can't wait to see when the phone calls start coming in what they all have to say. I think I have answered more stupid calls from unknown numbers, sales calls, you've won stuff calls etc then I ever would before not knowing what the number is going to come up when my SR calls :) ha ha.

I was reading what all the others had written first. I'm as exicted to hear about their recruits as my own. I did get two letters today. My mother and at least one friend each got one. They were all short. It looks like she was trying to write something to everybody. She was also upbeat. She passed the swim test but failed the 1.5 mile because of very bad blisters. She likes marching, misses her own soft bed, likes the RDCs. She said she had met some cool people, and they liked the way she talked.
Hoping for the phone call tomorrow.
