Hi, Kellie.  Glad you joined us.

Thanks, I have been reading a lot of the posts before actually joining.  I am looking forward to sharing these next 41 days with everyone.  I am in the process of looking for flights, already got my hotel for graduation.  I am bummed because I am not guarenteed a spot at graduation so I am hoping there is still lots of room.  I told him that I would give up my spot since he had to have mom/step dad, dad step/mom :)

Oh,  girl, that is so nice of you.  That probably takes some stress off of him.  I've read that the extras usually do get in.  There should be room in the "end zones".

I am hoping so, he didn't need to have that to worry about on top of everything else.  He is going to try to make a "friend" that doesn't have all 4 people so I can go but I figured I have the rest of the weekend to spend with him too.  He is going to A school in Great Lakes from all indications from before he left.  I also can't wait until we start getting our letters.  I am sure he'll write his mom too but at least I will know when to call her :)

This TG has 9 Divisions...so getting extras in should not be a problem. Midway Ceremonial Drill Hall is designed to hold up to 14-16 Divisions and there 4 guaranteed guests. Even when we have seen 14 divisions...RTC releases a statement saying that not all extras may get in...but many do! So with nine it should be fine.

You have a good attitude, girl. I'm glad to learn what FTLW just said.

Thanks lady, hey Sparky jo did I read somewhere that you were from Texas.

Yes, East Texas.   I've found four of us Texans so far.  Our SRs are probably used to the heat, but they are not going to know what to do in that the cold.  My daughter thinks snow is something that happens maybe once a year and stays on the ground a few hours.

That's funny, I'm originally from Michigan so that is extra funny to me as I am used to snow for 5 months of the year and we pray that it is only on the ground for a few hours.

KellieW - What is the rating (job) that your SR enlisted with? If you let me know I can look it up and find the A school.

Hello sparkyjo!

I am not sure what it is called offically, does that make me sound bad or what.  I know it was one that you went in and got trained for a whole bunch of different jobs.  Like skilled trades almost.

I got my hotel reservations at the Best Western in Gurnee.  Do any of you know anything about it and how far away from the base it is.  It was like picking a hotel at random for me.  If anyone can suggest somewhere better.  Let me know I figured they all pretty much have to be basically the same.
