Hi all....it's been a while just can't get a minute to write but I read all the time to see what's going on...my son wrote on the 16th he was in SIQ he had a fever, sore throat and just felt miserable but didn't want to stop training but finally went to medical on sat morn. he too said that they were going to to the firefighting/confidence chamber/ but was bummed thinking he may be grad n go. Can you guys tell me do they actually leave that night to go to A-School or do they at least get a day with us??
Cindy - No letter today ... bummer ... however I keep reminding myself in ONE WEEK we'll actually get to talk face to face! And then, there's always tomorrow and Saturday! Still waiting on a letter, but more anxiously awaiting, "THE phone call!" Ha!
I got a letter!!! It made me smile... alot. But he didnt mention anything about BC except that he is an E2 now and got another medal.
He got sharp shooter and national defense medal along with his two collar stripes for E2
I am.. he sent a letter for a friend that I just read....said they have firefighting and damage control this week (the 14th, he said next week). He also said he will be coming home for thanksgiving?
Charity - Coming home for Thanksgiving could very well be a possibility. We've heard the A-School in San Antonio closes down for about 10 days at Christmas, which would allow the Sailors some family time during the holidays ... we can only hope!

Glad everyone got letters today ... we have a crazy address and an even crazier mail carrier. If everything isn't written to a "T", he/she won't deliver it. I'm hoping that wasn't the case, but unfortunately, we don't usually see the mail delivery.
Oh :( He is going to Texas for A-School Seabees....So will I be able to spend Friday with him and then take him to the airport? Oh he is going to be sad to not be able to be with us.
Yep - as I said yesterday, we have a crazy address and an even crazier Postal Carrier! The reason we didn't get our letter yesterday was due to one little bitty piece of info that was left off the address ... and it's not a hard thing to figure it out. UGH!

Anyway ... I got a letter today!! WOO HOO!! lol He did say this was to be the last letter due to all of the upcoming tests and inspections, so I won't have to worry about it at least for a little while.

Jmarie - I think BonnieMae pretty much covered the airport thing, but "we" can't take them to the airport - they have to be back on base by either 8pm or 9pm (Depending on RDC's), on Friday, but we can meet them at their designated airport on Saturday - unless as Bonnie said, they are on a chartered flight - however, according to another post I read on here somewhere, the chartered flights are few and far between. My son will be flying to San Antonio for A-School - his rate is MA - or Master At Arms.

Hey y'all! Just think - this time NEXT WEEK we'll have spent some quality time with our Sailors!! Hoo YAH!

Have a great weekend!
got my candle burning and my prayers flying
I want to know how Captain's Cup went!!!! I also want them to post the honor grads already! :)
Bonnie - I just printed off my parking pass. When I first clicked on the link, it told me it was down or moved (Or something like that), but I clicked on the link that came up on the error page, and it allowed me to get in. Just in case, I'm posting the link to upcoming graduations. Try it again!

You will need the password Billy sent you - and make sure you type it in all caps!

I have Google Chrome ... have you tried that one?
