OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hey guys.  Just wondering if anyone else has their SRs pay information.  We got his first paycheck but it was really really small.  Just wondering if anyone else had that same problem???  I was wondering if it was because of the budget stuff or what.  I'm so confused!!!!

My Husband's first pay wasn't very small, but this time around it was significantly less then the first.  They take out a lot of things like their uniforms, stamps, postage for sending back their civilian clothes, ect...Each pay check might fluctuate until he finally gets settled into his regular job but that's months from now.  On top of all of this, recruits are all paid as E1 and they get the difference for whatever rate they are supposed to get paid as when they get out of boot camp.
This is normal but frustrating. As aveoamare said, recruits must buy uniforms, toiletries, and other necessities and the cost is taken from their pay. I think my husband's pay was variable for the first 6 months or so and it made it very difficult to plan ahead. Because of the budget scare we received two separate deposits on the 15th but we did get the full paycheck. His check is small likely because of purchasing necessities. If you were counting on that paycheck for essentials (food, gas, rent) you can contact Navy Marine Corp Relief Society NMCRS.org for financial assistance.
While they pay for many necessities that first check, uniforms aren't deducted from their base pay.  The BAH should kick in after a few pay cycles, and will be back dated to his first day in boot camp.  Comes in a lump sum, so you should get at least one large check.
While I understand all of this his check was only 200 dollars.  I didn't expect it to be that low I mean he has been gone for 3 weeks now so that is for two whole weeks.  I am just confused I guess I will have to wait until I get his mypay info.  Thank you for all the help guys!!!
You should also keep in mind that the pay cycle probably hasn't caught up with him yet. They normally get paid on the 1st and the 15th of each month but when they get to boot camp all their info has to be put into the computer. This takes time so sometimes they don't get a paycheck for the first month, then when it arrives it's smaller than expected. Eventually it'll all get caught up and he'll be getting regular paychecks. Hang in there.
Thank you!!!  I appreciate your responses.  I will just wait and see what happens.  I'm sure they have been really busy there I have noticed a lot of graduations going on.  Thanks again.
