Hi Leslie
My son leaves for basic on July 7th. I have found the bootcamp.navy.mil website very useful.

thank you, i will check it out.   what did your son choose for a job with the Navy?

He will be a culinary specialist.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for...; it will let you know what he needs to take with him and the things he is also allowed to take with him.

Thank you...
My son is at the moment on the plane headed to GL. ..I did ok at the swearing in ceremony this mornong, but have been crying nonstop since I got home. He is still able to text me until he gets to GL so that's been comforting.

You will both be fine. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC to help you prepare for what is to come.

Check your My Page.

Jordan just called me from O'Hara airport. just waiting for the shuttle to take them to base. He sounds happy and excited. Now I sit and wait for the 30 sec phone call telling me he is on base and arrived safely. What a life changing event this has been.
My son will also be culinary specialist... Left for BC 07/09/2014... Arrived GL 07/10.... Have you heard anything?
@Lynnie78 our sons may not be in the same division for bootcamp, but they may have a good chance at being at A school together.

Lynnie78, I left info for you on your My Page concerning the CS rating.

just curious has anyone heard from their Recruits that left on 7/8 pr 7/9? Getting antsy in South Carolina! :)
Hi @Robin
I haven't heard from my son yet. I received his box and form letter that has his address and PIR date:) Hang in there!
