OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello, my son left 7/9. We never got "the scripted call" phone never rang. Guess his cell battery died. I was disappointed about that. He will be a culinary specialist sub. I read in this thread another person has a culinary specialist too! I wasn't sure how I felt about that job choice, he turned down Intelligence Specialist, Cryptology, and a slew of other jobs like Logistics. All technical type jobs....but he wanted Culinary on a sub. The only thing he really wanted was Aviation, but he wears reading glasses as needed and they said he needed perfect vision so he was told no. His second choice was Culinary. He was happy with his decision. I am dying to know what division he was placed in and how he is doing. This is a great forum to pass the time, connect with people and seek support!!!

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) so that this page is no longer visible to ANYONE with access to the web. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
