My son is back from his last deployment and is currently filling out paperwork to separate from the Navy. The past 6 years have been a huge learning experience and I couldn't have made it through without the help of some of the people here.
Good luck to all those with loved ones who are serving. Thanks to all who have added something to this website and kept it alive. Know that what information you provide here is so very important to all of us.
Concernedad you were one of the special people who contributed. Will PM you when I get a chance. This has not been a good week - just a lot of stuff to get done.
Thank you for your kind words. I hope all is well with you.
Ironically, like all things Navy, his separation is not going as quickly as we thought. Lots of paperwork to go through. Hopefully he'll be done in time to enroll for college courses.
There's always paperwork, isn't there? Be sure he gets to the VA as soon as he can, and start that paperwork. People think of the VA in terms of medical care, but they offer more than that. They paid for my teaching certificate!
Thanks for everything.
Thank you Judy. Geez! 30 years!! Can't even imagine. Congrats to him on his retirement. Of those friends of mine who have retired with full benefits, they have gone on to do quite well for themselves.
