Hi Stephy - can't say how long the crying will last. I mean once our kids leave home do we ever really get over it?
I left the link to the boot camp group in the welcome message on your page. Be sure to join that group - you'll find lots of useful info there. And once you receive the official form letter (anywhere from 9-14 days) you'll know his PIR date and you can join that group too. Be sure to keep your phone handy (and the volume on high) at all times as you never know when a call might come in - answer all calls! You'll get a 30 second scripted call later today/tonight letting you know he arrived safely. Count Fridays rather than individual days - it helps the time go by faster. Hang in there......there's plenty of mom's here that have been where you are now.
Momma Bear - have you received your official letter yet with his PIR date?
I'm new to all the acronyms, what's PIR?
PIR - Pass in Review (graduation).
Here's a link to some Navy terms and acronyms (brush up on them so you can surprise your sailor with your Navy knowledge!):
Hi Sheree - be sure to join the boot camp group - I left the link in the Welcome message on your page ;-D
Thank you :)
