My baby boy leaves in  4 days (nov. 12th) I am keeping busy having his farewell dinner satuday for family and friends so I have been cooking a lot trying so hard to keep it together! I just know when I leave him at meps Tuesday I will be a mess! They do not let us take him to dinner the night before so when he is picked up Monday I will not see him til Tuesday morning at 9 and then only til noon or 1 when he leaves for the airport..apparently they stopped letting people take them to dinner the night before because too many of them were going out and getting drunk...sad that it has to make the ones who would listen and just go out to be with family suffer for it too....I also fractured my foot 2 days ago so doing all this in walking boot but  I don't care I am doing this myself for my baby boy I don't want anyones help I want him to see I am doing it for him! I am trying hard to hold it together I don't want him a boot camp worrying about me I want him to go and start this new part of his life without the worries of anyone else!!

Great attitude momma! You will be able to keep it together till he leaves because your right he will have enough to worry about without worrying if mom is going to be ok.

thanks I did break down yesterday but he hugged me and said "its time mom i stayed 21 years" I know but I can't help missing him and he  just left for hotel 30 min. ago

My son left today as well. Keeping them all in my prayers. <3
Our son arrived at RTC on 11/6. This will be our second time through this. I strongly suggest joining Facebook group titled Navy 101 and then the group that corresponds to his PIR date once you get the form letter. This was a god send the first time around. great info and people to share the ups and downs of the journey with.
