This is just a basic replacement thread for the Bush.  It is now deployed.  Maryellen and some other HAE crew got to hand deliver the bulk of the pillowcases to the sailors before they left for deployment!!

Comment by Maryellen yesterday
This was done by one of The Bush moms, get the tissues out you'll need them.

To whom this may concern,

I really appreciate the pillow case that you made. The eagles happen to be my favorite team. I’m glad you appreciate my service and I appreciate you for not forgetting us out here.

and his response to my reply:

The deployment is going ok for me. Not fast enough though to be honest lol. I know you’re glad to have your son back home. Did he get out or is he on leave? So what gave you the motivation other than your son to start this pillowcase project?

I wrote back again and told him the moldy peach muffin story.  I don't know which one he got, but here are some more pcs that I sent:

another one:

Sue Lamberson,

This is AZ1 Jeff  I received one of your pillow cases yesterday that was sent out. I just wanted to say thank you. That was very nice of you. The pillow case was very pretty. I am going to enjoy it quite a bit.

Well take care and have a great time. Hope to hear from you soon.

I wrote back and it was just as I was posting these notes that I realized that he addressed it to me.  I put the "makers" name on my little notes.

Sue,

My pillow case was a Christmas one; I believe you made it according to the card I got. That is awesome that your son is home. My deployment is going great right now. I have been in the navy for 8 years. I know some people from VFA-34, did your son know an AZ1 Qxxxx. Also what did your son do on the Lincoln, or in the squadron? I am going to send this to my mother; she might want to help if that is ok. She currently resides in Missouri. Well thanks again, and hope to hear from you soon.

 R/ Jeff

It's the one on the bottom right hand corner.  I decided to make 1 before I mailed these to the ship.  the only other ones that I made for the Bush were 10 for the CS unit, 1 drawn and some tie dyed.

Very very pretty pillowcases Sue!

Very nice letter

Here is one that ME sent me yesterday

Mrs. Theresa H. J.,

I would like take the time to say thank you very much for the pillow case. It is nice to know that people such as yourself are out there and care about the troops. The days can be very long and strenuous at times, but you and your organization has given me and my shipmates a constant reminder every time we lay our head down to go to sleep that someone has us in their thoughts and prayers. I send my heartfelt gratitude to you and all those like you for the much needed support!!!!

Feel free to email back.

Very Respectfully,

here's another one received today.  I love this!  I hope he got one that I did.  I had a blast making those tie dyes. and then another photo:

Hello, I am Axxxxx from squadron vaq-141. We greatly appreciate  the awesome pillow cases you guys made and sent to us. I personally love the tie-die ones. It brightened my day up when I saw them. It helps show that we are noticed and that someone does care about what we are doing. Everyone in my shop has one and it keeps us motivated to keep jets in the air to help protect our fellow shipmates and fellow  military brothers/sisters. So once again thank you so much. feel free to email me back whenever if you want any updates.

I got this wonderful note from a Master Chief on the Bush.

Adopted Moms,

This short letter is written from the bottom on my heart. I have been in the navy for 28yrs and currently deployed on the USS George H. W. Bush. This is the first time I have been exposed to your organization. This is a great thing you are doing for all troops in the arm forces wherever they might be. I wish this would have been around many years ago when I was new to the Navy. Please know, that the loving care that you put into every stitch of your pillowcase are greatly appreciated. Being a son whose mom passed away many years ago this pillowcase will always hold a special place in my heart. I will use it on every deployment I have left in my Navy career. Thank you again from a loving son.

Attached is a photo of the squadron I am currently attached too. Everyone has received one. Thank you again for everything you are doing for the troops.

Lyn, can you post that photo too?  Dori sent it to me also, so I can if necessary.  great note!
I'm working on it and should have it posted by tomorrow. My computer guy is busy tonight.

I got this note this morning right before I left for church.  couldn't wait to get home and post it.  I am so excited about this one and I will make sure that Rylee gets a copy.  Her dad is in the army and in Japan right now.  She did an awesome job!

Dear residents of Tuscan, AZ!

We received a huge shipment of custom pillow cases recently while on board the USS George H W Bush! What a nice surprise to get little tokens from back home in the U.S. from Americans supporting our deployment. I appreciate the work that was put into making such a shipment to our squadron. Rylee from Ventana Vista Elementary School was the artist of my pillow case. Very talented picture!

Thanks again!   Ash  HSC-9

If anyone gets notes from a Sailor and also write back to them, ask them to take a photo of themselves with their pillowcase! Please!  I want to see their faces and their pcs!

that is a great idea!   I have one from an army guy.  Make sure to ask permission to post on the site.

Lyn, here is the squadron.  Getting all of these notes are so much fun.

Thank you so much Tucson for the amazing pillow case!!!  It’s nice to know that everyone back home is supporting the ship and airwing!!!!
