Want to donate a gorgeous wedding dress to a lady of a sailor

I want to GIVE my wedding dress that is in gorgeous condition to a lady that needs a dress for her and her sailor to get married. This beautiful wedding dress was only worn once. I want someone else to love it as much as I did. It is an ivory sheath dress with a slit in the back. I am a size 8 and the dress fit wonderfully. I did have it altered a bit in the bust but it can be taken out. It is a lace up dress with the buttons on the top as you can see from the photo. It has a detachable train that is so adorable. The beading is gorgeous. I had my daughter try on the dress for the photos and she is 5'9'' so the dress came about two inches above her feet. I didn't button the back completely because she was in a hurry but all the buttons are there and the dress is gorgeous. Like I said, I only wore it once. I had it professionally dry cleaned. I only brought it out to take photos.  I spent over $1000 on this dress and wish that it to someone that truly would appreciate it. .

What about lady sailors who are soon-to-be-brides? :)

PurpleCarnation,

If you are looking for a dress post a comment on the San Fran site, we'll look around for you locally  ....

Thanks, but I was just asking. I wanted to make sure the OP wasn't unintentionally excluding anyone. I do happen to be engaged, but I haven't started a serious search for my dress yet.

I wouldn't hesitate to ask if there are military discounts for anything. Most merchants are happy to give something. If a young couple is open to "gently used" items - especially household items, I would put it out there in your local community.  When I first got out of college, I would go to all the garage sales for stuff. Within the military family, I am sure you can acquire household items free.  Some of us just have to look around in our closets for things we have accumulated for years ...  stuff that is just sitting there. I am all for saving your money for emergencies, deposits for apartments, retirement accounts, "baby fund", "wedding fund". Money spent on household items is sometimes just a waste, especially if you have to replace them anyway. We have all been young once, when money was real tight.  The key to get to the stuff before it's given away to Goodwill.

the dress is beuitful as i am sure you was the day of the wedding! so nice of you to offer i am new here and i hope my son does not marry for some time but that is so sweet of you to offer such a pretty dress for some one else!

I will give the dress to any sailors who are going to be brides or brides of sailors. I want the dress to go to someone who will love it. :)

I really do not want to give this dress to the Goodwill and would love to make sure that a military bride gets it. I know how tight money can be. If you know of a bride in the service here could use it, please let me know.
