My son is with your grandson! we spoke on Sunday, he mentioned at PIR to take as many pictures as soon as I saw him because his "part" was only about 10 minutes, at the beginning, then he would be gone again until the end.
Buc'smom, I left info for you on your My Page.
Hi Ginny,
I talked with my son on Sunday and he said his job was to watch/catch any sailor that was going (or look like) they were going to faint. He said he got this job because he was over 6 foot tall. We didn't talk long so I hope I understood him correctly. His job has changed (from when I talked to him of Friday to Sunday) so I don't count on anything until I see him on October 23rd.
Did I say you are going to graduation now??? Did I see you were going to watch from the Navy Lodge?? That is where I am staying.
Yay!!! I'm so glad your husband surprised you!! I hope we get to meet!!!
Talk to you soon!! This week I think they will be doing their first PT test. Next week should be Live Fire, which maybe fun for them, and academic test.
Graduation.....I hope gets here fast!!
Farah, I left info for you on your My Page.
My son is in ship 2 also. I just found this group. Lol. We are also from MI and will be driving to Illinois. How bout you?
Tmpray, my grandson went to boot camp on August 25, is in Ship 02, Div 950 (just notified of that today). I think his PIR will be October 23rd. I will not be about to attend (1k miles away). Just so much unknown, and I'm a researcher...I'll look into everything. Ginny (aka connect...)
We are from Upstate NY. We just made our reservation for Sarges Meet and Greet and are in the process of booking our hotel and flight. We are hoping to stay at the Navy Lodge Thurs and then we'll switch to the Hilton on Friday so that we are at the airport to see him as he will be going to A School in FL.
I can't wait to get his first actual letter and a phone call. I've already started counting down the Fridays. :) Only 7 more to go
