I received the long awatied form letter yesterday.  My son is in SHIP 2 DIV 950 and is asking me what the 900 division means:-)  I am guessing he knows by now but didn't know when they first chose him.  He played trombone in middle school, so I think that may be what qualified him. I am so happy for him to be a part of this division, it will really be a good thing for him and the others.  Looking forward to chatting with you all!

My husband is also in ship 2 div 950! I'm kind of baffled that he is in thr division.. Not sure why.. He wasn't in band or choir or anything so I can't wait to get my first letter so maybe I can find out more info

Well, from what I have read, my son is probably not using his trombone skills.  I have read that prior experience and good ASVAB scores is what gets you in the 900 divisions.  Time will tell, I can't wait to hear what he is doing also.

Yeah from what I know my husband wasnt in ROTC... so I am guessing it has to be his ASVAB score that got him in. I am still waiting on my first letter...I am hopeful that it is anyday now... I feel crazy stalking the mailman lol

Hi All...my son Christian has been playing the drums since he was little, but sounds like we really are not sure exactly what the DIV950 is about??  Hoping for a real letter soon, so excited to hear from him!!  Melinda

Still waiting....but I am sure all is well and they are finally starting to get comfortable.

I found this link that might help...looks like it is some musical/drill expertise!

My son is also Ship 2 Div 950. He has no ROTC experience and is not musical - it has to be the ASVAB.  I'm dying for a letter or some communication from him.  I am glad to hear he is in this division.  It sounds like a good opportunity.

I have heard there are times they can't fill it those ways and pick people or ask for volunteers...not sure if it is true!

My son has no musical background or ROTC experience.  So it may be his ASVAB score.  I did get my letter yesterday and cried the entire time I read it.   I also cried this morning when I re-read it.  He said that it was a honor to be picked out of thousands of people to be placed in this division.
