Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

HI! I just heard from my son's recruiter that he is also in Ship 02/Div 905 but that is all I know at this point since I have not received his letter yet. He was planning on seeking to be part of a 900 division as he sings but I am not even sure that is why he is there.

our son was in the band growing up, so I assume thats why he ended up in the 900 divison. What I found online earlier today is that div 905 is what's called the "triple threat" division. It is made up of recruits with musical abilities, and they will perform at PIR, as well as possibly the 2 PIR's prior to theirs. Their PIR iss scheduled for 12/13/13 at this point. If I find out anything else, I'll let you know.

My daughter is in Div 905/Ship 2 as well...and she is not musically talented at all :) Taylor confirmed this morning that it is called a "Triple Threat" division...usually band, choir and drill. She said that they asked if anyone played an instrument...she did not raise her hand, they asked if anyone could sing...she did not raise her hand, and then they asked if anyone played sports in high school...she raised her hand and was moved into that group. She said that they clean the bleachers after PIR's :)

My daughter is in 905 not sure what they are doing.
Guess I will have to wait until she writes.
