Morning Ladies! Cindy and Connie...I agree with Sherrill I am sooo jealous! I can see the two of you swimming out to grab the ropes , holding them in your teeth and swimming into dock that ship! Who needs tug boats when you are there! Really , I am sooo happy for both of you and your families and of course your Sailors! Pictures Please!
Welcome to Tonya! It takes time to learn all of the Navy speak! I am still learning and our son has been in 9 mos. now.
Navygf- Welcome back!
Mattsmom- Sounds like you will enjoy decorating the tree with your son's girlfriend! Our son's fiance and daughter are coming to help do our tree Sun or Monday! It will depend on her schedule... I am so excited! I am hoping it works out, she has hectic work hours and has a full week because the wedding is right around the corner! I am also hoping to take Jessi and her Mom to a coffee or lunch before Brandon gets home on the 17th! (8 more days!!) We haven't had a chance to meet her parents yet! I just want to give Jessi a little time to breathe before next week.
MNM- I would love to take a family cruise or Tiger cruise... We will have to see how things go.
Baking and house cleaning today... My sweet hubby is remodeling our
3rd bedroom and there is drywall dust everywhere! I am not complaining, because he is making it into a craft/sewing room for me!! I really adore this man! But as of today, the sanding will be done and we can start painting. I really want to get a good deep cleaning done before doing our tree and decorating!!
Have a Happy Friday gals! Hugs
Last Christmas when my son was home I walked up on him and his uncle (former Army) talking and I swear I thought they were speaking a different language! Acronyms filled the conversation. My son finally looked up and said "Oh, sorry Mom just ask if you don't know what we are talking about". It was great to see that common bond between the two of them because his uncle is kind of a loner since he returned from his last tour and to see him talk that much to anyone was amazing.
Have a great day everyone!
This time next week my son will be home! Can not wait to see him again. His gf is coming with him and this will be the first time we have met her. We have talked on the phone and she sounds really sweet but most importantly she makes him happy. My grandkids were going to help decorate our tree but didn't get around to it before their mom and dad picked them up so I have a tree with lights but no ornaments. I was telling Matt's gf about it and she told me she would help and sounded very excited about decorating the tree so the few ornaments that I had put on I took off so that when they get here next week they can do the decorating.
Connie and Cindy have a safe trip.
Welcome back navygf.
Hi! I know I wrote on this wall before but I just wanted to introduce myself again. My name is Tonya and I am 22 years old. My boyfriend, Sean-23, graduated from Basic Training on 12/2 (Amazing Ceremony!) and is now in Pensacola, FL for A school. His job is to be an aviation systems electronic technician. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I am still getting used to everything and am just starting to get a hand on military life and navy terms such as muster, etc. which he tries to explain to me on the phone. I'm sure it will take time but I am ready :) :)
Cindy- Safe travels as well! We have only 9 days left 'til B comes walkin' through the front door! Jessi is picking him up at the airport!!
I send hugs to all of the Sailor "kids" coming home soon! Big hugs and warm memories to those who will be apart from their loved ones this season as well!
Connie- I would say you ar first today! Sounds like you have things under control on your end. How special that you are saving the "Star" for your Son to put up! So, you are meeting your Son's ship? How neat! I bet that is so impressive!
B's fiance is bringing Abi over Sun or Mon to help to decorate the tree at our house. This should be fun, it's been many years since we have had little hands to help decorate the tree!
On the remembrance of Pearl Harbor... So many gave so much that day and the observance at the USS Arizona site was so honorable. I cried too watching it. It brought back so many memories of my late Papa! We were fortunate as a family to not have lost anyone, but as a military family we sure felt like we did! Blessings to all of the survivors and the Hero's who never came home that day!
Good morning my girlies! hope you all have the good sense to be snug in your beds!! am i actually FIRST or ridiculously LAST????
