Hi sharoncede, yes we're neighbors, I 'm in Long Beach. We're are talking deep south, too funny. We often go to Gulf Shores and Bellingrath Gardens.
Hello Everyone, happy to be with the AT group.
kk and I have shared, in fact kk told me of this group. Hi kk.
Marine navy mom you didn't miss my post, that was my first post on the AT group. No he is not going to A school, he is on the job training. Not sure what that means if there is a difference.? I know as undes he was working w AT's at times.
He never said ATO or ATI, he just said his rate was AT, on the destroyer.
I ask him how long his training was, he said forever w a smile.
MNM- Thanks for the link. I have been there already this morning, didn't sleep well last night and had found it. Been doing tons of reading and feel like I have a much better grasp on things now! You're the best! All of you are! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you and your friendship!
Welcome to the new gals...these are the greatest gals out there! you will be welcomed with open arms here!
ColoradoConnie, I have just left the unders group where I had wonderful support from a great group of mom's. I too had many questions. My son sign a contract for Rescue Swimmer, he became very sick and the last day was dropped . He was heartbroken and so were we for him. He became unde and I had no idea what this meant.
It was hard for him in the beginning, not sure where he was going or what he would be doing. However he meet lots of buddies and learn patients along the way. Many of our young men and women sign up undes until they find the rate they may be interested in stricking for. I would have been completely lost if it were not for N4M undes group.
It's been almost a year now and he tested in Sept and assigned the rate of AT of a couple of weeks ago. He is assigned to a destroyer and leaves in a week for his first deployment. He is happy with the AT rate, it sounds like he enjoys what he's doing.
Connie, I know how disappointed both B and you must feel right now. But he won't be undes forever, he will be trying other jobs on for size and will find a rate that he really enjoys.
Good to hear he has leave to go home for Christmas. My son can home the first week in Nov. we had Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in 8 days, we had a blast.
Thanks Cindy! He just texted me that he has muster and will call later to explain more...
I would appreciate any help or info I can get I have only found a couple of things on N4M's but I may be looking for the wrong thing.
Hello ladies, well B got a big surprise for his Bday yesterday... Kind of a punch in the stomach. He received word that he has lost his rate! I am not sure why, as he was not real specific. He was however very angry, hurt and upset. So now he is Undesignated...what does that mean? Will he have to start all over with classes or will they just send orders and have him swab the decks? I am at a loss as to how to support him. He will have his leave at Christmas so at least he will be home soon, but I think he will only return to P'cola long enough to get packed and go back to Chicago and then into the fleet, he said something about a year before he can go for a new rate? My heart just breaks for him...he has worked so hard and even struggled with his classes. Then found out he has medical issues when he had the siezure, Lord, what else can happen? Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers..I am really concerned about him.
Today is Brandon's 31st Birthday!!! Happy, Happy Day!!
