Great Idea CC. Those big box stores will run up the prices, once they run off all the Mom & Pop shops.

Connie loved the cupcake pic.

Enjoying every minute with my sailor. I was thinking since he would be home for Christmas, leaving this time would not be hard.  What a fool I was.  I still have one day, and I've already started crying.  I need a dry eye pill. LOL

Happy Saturday, from Whidbey Island.

Don't forget to shop your local Small Businesses today , and all through the Holiday season. There are a couple of little towns near us that are part of our community. One is a tourist town (Canon City, pronounced Canyon) near The Royal Gorge Bridge the highest suspension bridge in the country... it's downtown is actually quite historic and there are lots of great shops and Then there is studios. Then there is Florence, A great little Artist and Antiques mecca! So many little cool shops that feature the works of that of local artisans and craftsman. I always find so many great things in their shops.  Lets keep our local businesses running! Plus so many of them are friends and neighbors!

Happy Saturday Girls! Boy I was sooo lazy yesterday...kicked back and watched movies and football all day! Dozed and napped too...I guess I didn't realized how hard I worked getting things ready for Thanksgiving. Maybe over did things but I had so much to be gratefulfor this year, just being here still was the biggest one! I have to admit that I did do some online shopping yesterday, but never even put my shoes on. Just comfy cuddly clothes and slippers!

Hope you all have a great day whether with family or friends or just enjoying some quiet time!

Hey y'all.  Had a great Thanksgiving with some very nice Sailors. Loved having my son home for the holidays.  No Black Friday shopping for me.  If I can't afford it on other days, I don't need it.  But it's Saturday in Alabama.  Time for the annual Iron Bowl.  Alabama and Auburn.  Can't wait for game time.  Kick off at 2:30 cst.  Alabama has a chance to go to the BCS.  As for the Bus, I think it's a great idea.  Let's just tour the world and stop at the Naval Bases where our children are stationed.  That would be great to see our kids and others.  What do you think?

I have had worse. I was worth every bite to just be in the same room! Today were making finger foods and watching football. Homemade Chicken Alfrado for dinner

Good morning my turkey-stuffed girlies....well here it's lasagna-stuffed hehehehehe

noooo commando/guerrilla shopping for me either!  my Christmas shopping is almost DONE!!!!

for those of you used to my crazy stories....here's another chapter.....Mr. Creepy next door who hasn't had a job in the past 17 yrs. and disappears to the Northeast every year for about 3 months....well...he's back and he has ANOTHER "plain-clothes cop-looking car" parked over there.  he's had one for years and we've never seen it moved. i ought to get "brave" and go over and ask him about it....you know he thinks i'm one of his best buddies because no one else will be nice to him.

No Black Friday shopping for me either unless it is online.  I always try to talk a family member into going for me and taking a list but that has never worked either. lol   We have people in our area that have been camping out in front of one store since Monday.  We have two of our grandkids for the weekend so hubby has taken the grandson fishing and me and my granddaughter are heading out to some of the locally owned stores in our small town so we shouldn't have to fight any crowds-I hope.
