Hey y'all. My Sailor will be on his way home tomorrow. Be here by lunch. Can't wait to see him and friends. Planning on about 16 people for lunch. We will be having a good old fashioned southern Thanksgiving - Ham, Turkey, Dressing, Cranberry sauce, potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, devilled eggs, broccoli salad, rolls, German chocolate cake and praline cheesecake. My son said he would have to run 10-miles over the weekend to take off the pounds he would be gaining. Hope y'all have a Great Thanksgiving.
ok got 75% of cooking and baking done for tomorrow. We are only four people but i manage to make everyones favorites. We will be eating all weekend. Chris is going to a friend off base. He even asked for how to make corn souffle so he could bring it with him. Happy Thanksgiving all and god bless those who cant be home this holiday.
Happy Birthday Sherill and B!
You all are making me hungry, I will let you know how Galley food really taste :)
I hope that everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! So sailor son home for this holiday but he will be home for Christmas. Counting down the days. Eighteen people at our house tomorrow for Thanksgiving and like MNM I have done everything that I can tonight so just have to get up and pop the turkey and ham in the oven. Bring the bus through Texas and I will take y'all to a local barbeque place that makes the best pies. Everything is made from scratch.
Maybe I better bake some more pies! I better get a few more chairs too!
I think I need to call the church, and see if I can borrow about 32 folding chairs and about 4 or 5 tables!! LOL! Oh wouldn't it be a blast if we could all get together like that!
Got all of my major prep done and now am off my feet and actually thinking about a nap now! But I need to guard the fridge to make sure my sweet hubby Hank doesn't raid the pumpkin chiffon pie! I wont make the whip cream topping til tomorrow...that should deter him...
Connie- I may book a flight to your house! Lasagna is one of my all time favorites! My Mom is joining us again this year. She lives up the road a mile or so. Not a southern gal as far as I know.. just a farmers daughter!! Everything was grown, raised, butchered and cooked from scratch!
Cindy, How many seats should I add to the table? LOL!
Good Morning the Day Before Thanksgiving to my Girlies!!
Happy Birthday to Sherrill and to B!!!
CC-she's comin' around and getting back to good health!!
got my sweet potato pie stuff all laid out....Lasagna for tomorrow's dinner....it will be me, the Dad, Sissy and Grandmaw for dinner. will have toasted Ravioli too! we shake things up a bit since it's just the four of us for Thanksgiving dinner....we "considered" barbecue but we're going with the Lasagna.
that turkey breast covered in bacon.....OH MERCY.....that sounds so wonderful! and the homemade buttermilk biscuits....CC honey are you a southern gal at heart?
i'm making enough Lasagna for a small army if y'all wanna stop by here after you go to CC's!!!
