Yea..for winning football games, that is awesome!! We won the Division in my sailors junior year, played into December...it was fun and exciting to watch...yes, wishing them luck and another win!!
My AT sailor has moved around three times now in 10 months...A school, C school and duty station and then found out he'll be deployed on his ship for 6 months next year.......may want to wait until he had INDOC at NAS to learn the dos and don'ts that the Navy is advising right now about moves, I'm hearing some policies have changed for "students" by the other wives...here's a link for the wives group in Pcola, they may have some advise....:

Happy Friday! Wow I haven't been on here in a few weeks and we've got newbies....Welcome!!!!
Sammm - I feel for you being so far away from your husband...it must be so hard on both of you. Unfortunately there's no way to tell how long his wait time will be once he gets to P'cola (my son was there 6 months - he's ATI but he's been gone from there a year and a half now) Keep in mind that he may have to go to C school (some do some don't) and then he'll be assigned to his permanent duty station so you may have to make several moves if you choose to stay with him during his schooling. Have you been able to connect to other wives in the P'cola group to see what some of them are doing? Tough decision to make. Best of luck to your husband and you.
BeachBunny - Football is still going on.....we're playing for District Championship on Monday....wish us luck. We're still undefeated and no one has scored on us in the past 6 games! It's an exciting season.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
You can see him in Pcola...I went several times from CA, you can stay on base at the navy gateway or navy lodge then after he phases up he can stay with you as his liberty buddy off base..., yip, just like Matt's Mom/Cathy said..:)
adamsmom you will be able to see him while he is in "A" school. He will have to phase up but then he will be allowed to spend the weekend off base with you. When my son was in Pensacola they were not allowed off base without a buddy so someone will have to go in and be with him when he checks out for the weekend so they will know who he is with. We traveled to Florida several times to spend the weekend with our son and he even traveled home to Texas for the Thanksgiving holiday while he was in "A" school. Wow seems like so long ago now! He has been in the Navy for over 4 years now.
hi I have a question about "A" school in P'cola. My son leaves in three days for bootcamp. He will be going into av after grad bcamp. He read that he will not get to see any of his family until grad. A school is this true?
Hi Idaho ma! We have a lot in common... my GIRL is also an ATO and I also live in Idaho! LOL Anyway, she PIR'd August of 2012 and went straight to Pensacola. She was on hold for 4 months and then finally graduated from A school in February. After that she went straight to C school in California and then graduated that in August of 2013. She is now at Whidbey Island with a squadron of Growlers and finally doing her job (sort of)... still lots of training and grunt work as the newbie! :-) That's pretty much been the path and timeline of most everyone she graduated with at BC and went ATO. Hold times vary, but right now they are at least a couple of months. Most all ATO's do go to C school. As far as the AT training... it depends on their degree program, but they can get college credit for some of the classes they take, but I believe it's the classes they take during their career and not so much the basic classes of A school and C school... but someone else can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm kind of new on the college side of it.
Welcome to our group and don't be afraid to ask any questions!
Hi everybody~
Looking for some info on the ATO rating. My sailor just PIR'd 10/25 and arrived at Pensacola last Sunday. She says she may have to wait a couple months to class up. How long is A school for ATO's? I read on these discussions that it's the shortest AT school, but then they go somewhere else for C school. Any info you can give me is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, one more question: I heard that some AT training counts towards college credit. Is that also true for ATO training?
I would suggest flying out late Sunday or Monday morning if you can...flying from CA it longer flight times and you can always find cool things to do in Chicago if he does fly out Sat...check Southwest you can easily change your flight with no change fees...
Sammm-Hi there..have you joined the Pcola A school groups, there's some wives on there that have discussions on moving during A school. You might want to read what they have figured out...Some sailors flying out of GL to PNS fly out either Sat or Sun...when my ATO flew out from PIR, 32 left on Sat and 28 left on Sun...he'll know more after passing BS21 and getting his orders.... :))
I'm pretty sure you can move at any point as long as he gets permission.
