Kira~ I know how you feel! My daughter arrived 08 September and just started her ATT classes (she is ATI also:). Her ticket home is 24Dec-  04Jan. hope that will be ok. She told me just do it. So I did. But she flies Delta military so if there needs to be a change it is supposed to be okay, no charge to change....

Good Morning Ladies!
Welcome Kiri and best of luck to your daughter in school. My son is also ATI and spent 6 months in P'cola. It's really nice hope she enjoys her time there. Congrats to your SF Giants sounds like you had a great view for the parade. I'm a STL Cardinal fan and hated losing to the Giants but you all got one heck of a pitcher and I was rooting for you in the World Series. Glad your daughter gets to come home over the holidays. My prayers to your in-laws.

Sons football team was victorious last night but it was a real nail-biter 25-24! Kept texting my Sailor throughout the game - I think he was as nervous as I was!

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Jill, From what I heard from Emily she said they can either get leave which includes Christmas or New Year's but not both holidays. I'm not sure how correct that is. We're choosing she's home for New Year's for two reasons, because my husband and I are out of town with his family in New York for Xmas and she's Japanese Buddhist and she doesn't celebrate Christmas (but she loves being with her friends and family and celebrating the holidays with food and presents and love!).

She's also going to volunteer at the Recruiting Center in SF to get some leave days knocked off of her time here to save for later.

Hi Kira,  my daughter is also in Pensacola right now, going to be an ATO.  She started the ATT class 2 weeks ago (which would make sense since she graduated boot a few weeks before your daughter).  She says it's not tough as long as you pay attention.  I think she has gotten a "A" on all the tests so far.

Why is your daughter coming home for New Years and not Christmas?  My daughter was under the impression that she could put in for whatever dates she wanted over Christmas shut down.  Is this not correct?  Do they have to choose either Christmas week or New Years week?

She'll be coming home to California also... but we are Dodger fans... LOL... enjoy your parade though :-)

Thanks, Connie! And right now outside my office in downtown San Francisco the Giants victory parade down Market Street is about to start. Getting crazy noisy and excited out there as a million people are expected to be down here watching. (More than the entire city's population.)

Happy Halloween and I hope the kiddies on the East Coast have some fun tonight despite the upheaval and devastation. Praying for everyone there especially my in-laws on the south coast of Long Island who were hard hit.
