NOTE TO ANY NEW MOMS IN THIS GROUP....yes we do talk "serious Navy stuff" here....i just had to update the girlies on an ongoing situation in my neighborhood.

Good Evening my girlies!!!  News Flash....Update!!!  Surveillance....i was RIGHT all along!!  it was the FBI watching the "man from the Foreign Land".  my neighbor finally got a policewoman to spill her guts about who "surveillance was and who were they watching".  did i ever tell you that Mr. Spooky was parked in front of the Nutty Professor's house?  that would be at an angle from my house looking out the office window.

The policewoman would not tell my neighbor why the "man" was being watched and she also doesn't know if Mr. Spooky will be back to do more surveilling.

oh i am so torqued up i won't sleep a wink tonight!!!!  thank goodness Mr. Spooky wasn't watching Mr. Creepy next door as i initially suspected.  Mr. Creepy shared his green tomatoes with me and i would just feel awful if he was in any bad trouble....although.....he hasn't had a job in 18 yrs. and he gets TONS of mail....he's still sketchy but you know a man who'll share his green tomatoes can't be all bad.

yard sale...preemptive strike on 9-22 (neighbor was already having one) and we didn't do "jack".  ready for the "real" sale this Saturday.

Good Morning Ladies!
It's been a hectic week for me. Co-worker had her baby last weekend so I've been doing double duty.....speaking of babies.....I see there are a couple of grandbabies on the way....congratulations Joyce & Matt's Mom!!!! How exciting for you both.
The weather is absolutely beautiful here in the Midwest. Hope the weather is great where ever you all are so everyone can get out and have a wonderful fall day!

No fancy software for our newsletter.  I just use OpenOffice and we load it on our club's website.  Our's is usually 6-10 pages depending on the time of year.  My term as Secretary will be up in December and I think I am ready to turn the job over to the next person.  A lot of paperwork involved in keeping everything straight.  Since retiring I seem to be adding more work for myself.

That is awesome Joyce!  I bet you are excited about having a little girl in the family after having all boys.  When we got married my husband had two sons then we had Matt so I know how it feels to live in a house with all males.  This will be Matt & Charissa's first baby.  Just wish they were not so far away.

matts mom: my daughter in law is due oct 15. we will be heading down to Va when we get the word. Its our first grandchild. Getting very excited. It will be a girl. Having 3 sons, will make it extra special to welcome a little girl

Sherrill I do the newsletter for our car club also.  You are right it is time consuming.  I thought when I was elected secretary that I would be smart and turn to the other officers and have them write something up for the newsletter each month and make a report on events attended by members and I would be through.  Yea that did not work so well.  Some months it is a struggle to come up with enough news to write about.

My grandson is due in less than 3 weeks and I will be headed to WA to meet him.  I can't wait but I know that my daughter in law REALLY can't wait for him to arrive.

We had cooler weather in Texas last week and it was awesome but the heat and humidity are back this week.  So ready for fall temps.

good afternoon my girlies!

garage sale yesterday.....why oh why oh why????  i must have completely lost my mind!  what a waste of a perfectly wonderful day.

BUT the good news was....two adorable young ladies did come to the sale....they didn't buy any thing but we chatted for a few minutes.  they have opened up a restaurant in Grandmaw's old schoolhouse.  she will flip her lid when i surprise her with a "drive in the country" and we decide to make a quick stop for lunch at her old school!!!

and obtw....that checkbook would NOT balance and she is "on notice" to never do any more ciphering...her "bookkeeping" days are DONE! of course this is going to mean that i will get daily calls from her regarding her balance!!!

talked to Sailor Son.  he sounded really good.  he has two new mentors and he is very confident in their guidance.

meanwhile yesterday in the middle of the garage sale i decided to bake cupcakes for a young man in our cove that i just met.  when he moved in he missed the first batch of cupcakes so i baked him his own "private" batch and took them over.  thankfully i handed them off to another person because i was missing my Sailor so much i was on the verge of tears.
