Joshmom- Wow your linebacker sounds huge...good spot for him :)

Thanks for the insight I did text him yesterday about the online account and haven't heard back yet.  He did pick West Coast-we are Washington State based.  I forget the Navy isn't like my 9-5 job when I put in for vacation I can plan and actually know when Im going to get my time of LOL... So my fingers are crossed and hoping for a quick POP.

Good luck with your football player. I love school football.

Good evening ladies! I finally found a little free time to check in and say hi. Football has begun and my 14 year olds practice schedule has officially consumed my whole life! Hope you all are doing well and the sad & tragic events are behind us.

Chris - did your son get to pick orders? My Sailor just graduated ATI at the end of June. He picked orders at the beginning of June but then it took about 2 - 3 weeks for them to pop. He was checking his online account everyday waiting for them. I bet your son is doing the same. He'll know what you're talking about when you ask him about his Navy online account. My son also took leave but we didn't know for sure he was going to get to come home until just a few days before leave. Good luck to your son. I hope he gets the orders he wants and also a trip home!

Gotta go, time to head back into town to pick up my little linebacker! All 6' 200 lbs of him!

Thanks for the insight.  Not sure what Navy Account online you are referring to?

Has anyone else heard about a Hold. I have a SR graduating his ATI program Aug 3. Was suppose to come home on leave but hasn't gotten his continuation orders so he said he is possibly on a hold.

Good morning my girlies!!

Sherrill, i'm counting on all of you to come bail me out!  thank you dahlin'!!!!

y'all have a wonderful weekend. "Hang 'Em High Sissy" and Poppa Smurf are off to run some errands this afternoon.  got to get that summons back in the mail and try to explain to "the powers that be" that although i would dearly love a chance to serve on the Grand Jury i can't do it....the good Lord has other plans for me.

Good morning my girlies!!  yesterday Poppa Smurf asked me to get the mail out of the box....some thing i rarely do.  a little mail comes in my name from time to time and if it's a bill then i sure as heck am not interested.  hehehehe

so i sashay off to the mailbox and (the sound of screeching footsteps) there's one of those large envelopes with my name on from the United States District Court.

well you all know me...i actually had a moment that i was wishing i was being summoned to testify in some really interesting case....maybe the feds got some thing on the "man from the foreign land" that they have been watching in my neighborhood but nooooo i have been chosen for the Grand Jury.

after i had my mini meltdown thinking i can not do this although i would LOVE it....i figured i could take "Hang 'Em High Sissy" with me every day to jury room and oh what fun we could have!!!

but then i realized that won't work either.....we'd step one foot inside that court house and she will start yelling "take her to jail....take her to jail".....she has always wanted me to go to jail.  i don't know why she wants me locked up but she does....hehehehehe

kk - getting to meet J's friends and do things for them is such an awesome feeling. I'm really starting to understand the meaning of the "Navy Family"

Good Morning! Got in late late last night. It was a long road trip but a good one. As soon as we got to Biloxi J wanted to pick up his friend at Keesler then we all went out for supper and got to hear all about the AFB. J found out another friend was coming in by bus from leave on Monday morning so we picked up that Sailor at the bus stop and took him out to breakfast. Got to play mom to this other Sailor (ironed his whites, took him to the store to get a few supplies). J and his friend checked into Keesler together and while we were waiting in the parking lot with the rest of their bags the Senior Chief invited us into the barracks. Got to chat with him and also met the Chief. It was awesome! Then we stayed and listened as Senior Chief went over all the rules and what happens if not obeyed. It was great getting that info first hand! J & his friend got to be room mates too. They were two happy Sailors so that made saying good bye much easier. The only disappointment to the trip was we ran out of time and didn't get to have BBQ in Memphis with Connie - next time Connie!
